He's great mates with Marcus Evans through horse racing and is also friends with Paul Jewell. Micheal Owen also owns a string of race horses that are trained at Newmarket and is looking for more game time away from Man Utd! Apparently Brighton were on course to get his services but Jewell may well make an offer! Good grief from the sublime to the ridiculous! http://www.ipswich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=270283
no chance. This clown is happy to take money and not play. He's always injured anyway, I'd rather not !
Might be wrong, but to me Owen is the epitamy of a modern footballer, too comfortable, not up for a challenge, just content to sit back and take a big wage so he can pursue his other hobbies. No drive or determination.
I agree with most of the above.... BUT, he always scores goals, and we do need a proper striker, who knows where the goal is. And He's "only" 32..i think it might not be a bad move, short term.
Didn't you all say the same about Chopra ? Still it might be cheaper to book a double room at the gambling clinic.....bogof ?
£30k a week + £15k an appearance, it seems unlikely(the Brighton story has been dismissed as bollocks too).
I'm afraid that this is the kind of short-termism that has infected our club ever since Marcus Evans took over! Nothing these clowns do will surprise me any more.
Lets face it, he's not going to get another game for Man Utd this season. It comes down to how desperate he is to play football, and whether he's not demanding too much money. Might be wise to offer him wages based on goals scored. And surely we need more firepower up front, especially as our defence is leakier than a Norfolk whore's snatch! We obviously now need to start scoring more goals than the other team...so, what do you do? You get a proven goalscorer..simples!
If you want Owen, you will be disappointed, looks like he is going to Brighton. http://www.twtd.co.uk/mb.php?m=v&t=185621#185621
