I make no apologies for this thread. I just want to express my appreciation and admiration for what this man is trying to do for us. He keeps his head down and quietly gets on with his job showing an intelligence and dignity that few other managers in football possess.

What a contrast to the previous incumbent! No bitterness or sour grapes in this observation because Rodgers has earned his place in our history by taking us to, and keeping us in, the Premier League. But I see such a difference with Laudrup. No bull***t, no false praise, no unashamed courting of the media. He just does his work with minimum fuss and maximum modesty.

I truly hope, as much for his sake as ours, that he makes a huge success of this job. He is the kind of man that richly deserves it and I am so very proud that he is the manager of our great football club.

nobody can complain about yesterdays performance even with a 1-0 loss, We looked like the champions elect against the British champions...Very happy with what i saw and with a little bit more luck we could easily have won and man city could not complain......great effort all around....

Agree 100% Ivor, Laudrup is pure class, sometimes less is more and i think its that way here. I look at the performances of his signings yesterday and i have to say everyone looks like a bargin! deguzman had his best game for us,chico was immense and Michu total class. Ki was solid, and Pablo while having a poor game almost got a couple of assists !!

The game was yesterday was an indication of our progress and our progress is moving along nicely, the more the team play together the better its gonna get.

Tacticaslly laudrup got it spot on andhis subs are always the right choice for me

I did question Danny for Leon norway, I thought that was a bit odd ....

Would have preferred Moore myself, but he wasn't on the bench. He wanted to attack keep all the players likely to get one on the field. Let's face it, Leon is not on the top of that list. A tough choice, his alternative would have been DeG, but he chose the go-for-it option.

Echo Ivor's comments. We're going to have a fun ride while ML is with us. He is going to be a hard manager to replace when the time comes.

I think Lauds was looking for more/new energy with a bigger goal threat. Leon had put in a good shift, although, I thought not quite with his usual effectiveness.

Norway, as for Pablo, there is no doubting his class. What he is obviously lacking is game time and match sharpness/confidence. I believe he missed a lot of last season for one reason or another but I am absolutely convinced he will come good for us. It will come slowly then with a rush. I reckon he'll have one storming game, get the confidence from it and crack on from there. He has too much quality not to.

I thought so too but it proved to be a great change IMO, Ki and JDG had control of midfield and it was nice to see us keep our passing without britton, yet again it shows we are growing strength in depth . DG had plenty of running in him when he came on and it kept the pressure on their defence, so a bold move by Laudrup but one i think was correct on reflection.

Ivor- I said pretty much the same in my Article "laudrups swans" ive seen him play for Valencia and he is some talent thats for sure, he needs more time to find his feet but even with a few shaky performances he still has scored 1 and almost created the assist for us to shock the champions.

Nathen should start the next game i think, we dont want pablo going into his shell, i can see he is trying but the ball is bobbling arou d him and his touch looks L2 level, we all know it isnt but thats where he is at the moment so a bit of bench time with less pressure is needed IMO.

Its also critical we dont get a repeat of last season where routs played well and got dropped and sinclair played ****e and stayed in the team, we now have 3 awesome wingers and nathen needs to come into the team next game at least :)

Good to see an article like this on here, too much attention given to the Irish tart, I hope we can keep Laudrup for the long term, as he clearly will be the man to establish us as regulars at this level, and thats all we want. Laudrup has more class in his little finger than Rodger the dodger has in his entire body, and I haven't missed Brenda one little bit, and about time some posters stopped going on about the tart.

What I like about Laudrup is that he is boldly restructuring our passing and possession game, so that we are more flexible in our offensive game, not only giving us the cuting edge in the final third, but he is demanding more offensive work in the individual players commitment in the tackle, we are more robust in the tackle this season, and not afraid to commit to the personal battle, this shows he has instilled the belief in our players, that they are good enough for these personal battles at this level. GIVE US A FEW MORE GAMES AND WE WILL BE ROCKING!........... <cheers>

    PS: posted from my mobile.

One game short of the 10 game report most will make on him its fair to say he has got through alot of hard work and **** in t=his short spell.

    replacing a popular manager
dealing with injury crisis the last manager never had to worry bout
dealing with an apparent players revolt ,involoving the senior pro's
having to lose his best players like allen and scott sinclair
needing to sign quality replacements to replace caulker and siggy

that is alot of work for a new manager to deal with in the hardest league in the world, i expected us to have teething problems early on but we were lucky that that didnt really materialise. the guy is a living legend and it looks like his team know what they are doing <ok>

Laudrup has indeed had to contend with a lot more issues than Rodgers, and it looks like Vorm is added to the list, but I'm sure we will be triumphant in our adversity, there will be an urgent need for our board to be very symathetic to Laudrup for funds, for January strengthening! Good old Huw aye ......... <ok>

ML is doing a fantastic job, were very lucky to have him as our manager. Agrre that he has no aires and graces and spouts of rubbish. Gives it to you straight with no excuses. What a refreshing change. Still gutted we never got a point though.

Well to me it made perfect sense ML wants to attack , to me we looked competative in the middle and they were tiring at the back , the only thing to do in my opinion bring fresh legs on upfront just a shame it didn't pay off. Good to see him try things.

We had our fair few chances Never! But we just didn't have the rub of the green, but the performance was top draw, proud of Laudrup and the boys, we are going to be fine this year lads, but I hope we don't get any more injuries, certainly making up for last year, though with a more attacking ethos, does come the risk of increased injury.............<ok>

Mr Laudrup , to me is work in progress as is the team and together I can see us improving on wards and upwards ,the manger has the nous to see what is wrong and is not afraid to take chances and has faith in not only his but the players abilities which is great to see .Bearing in mind that he has never managed a British team and at this level I'm more than happy with his managerial skills .

I wish they would realise that the **** has gone , and it would suit me fine if they went as well or at least realise that the damage that was caused or rather could have been caused if it wasn't for the the god that is ML. I hear a certain pep may be calling in at Llandarcy to cast an eye for the future , I'll say no more than that..........

Swanstastic- Any of our former players and managers are relevent to us fans, its no different with brenda, some get pissed off with it but they always have the option to not comment on it, most fans do enjoy a dig at a former employee though so long may topical threads like yours continue <ok>
