Seen across a lot of the papers we are once again being linked with Micah Richards, a player I believe we tried to sign in January. Although City have offered him a new contract, he apparently has turned it down and is looking to move. Would you want him at Liverpool? Personally I'd welcome him, he's a quality defender, can play across the back four and will add to the team. The downside his injury problems. What say you?
Would need to be cheap (under £5m) and low wages given his injury record. No doubt he'd provide cover at RB and CB and in theory could be a RCB to partner Sakho long term, but he has injury problems and would be a huge risk.
5 mill? I would be astounded by that. He's young and very good. I'd say more like 8 mill, but I'd be happy with 5!
I don't think it is legal to buy him... but wouldn't mind paying to have him transferred. If it isn't too much. If his wages are too high and impacts other signings that would be a no too. Better than Johnson.
He has had injury issue's in the past, but i'm not sure about recently, is he not in the city team because of injury or is it because he just can't get into the team. He wouldn't be the first young player to go to city or Chelsea never to be seen again. If the price was right under 10 mill, then i would take him. The magic sponge has worked some miracles since Rogers took over.
If we could keep him fit I think he and Sakho could form a superb pairing at CB. Suspect he will cost too much for the risk. Plus he's about 26 now isn't he?
If he didn't have fitness issues city probably wouldn't let him go. And if they did it would 15mill +. So do you take a chance. Great player when he's fit and versatile too. Given our medical team are pretty good at sorting out the injury prone ( thinking Gerrard here who hasn't missed many games in the last two seasons) could be worth a punt at the right price. Still young too.
He missed the last five or six games last season through injury but get your point. However, surely there is a limit on how many injury prone players we should have? Agger, Johnson, Enrique, Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Sturridge, etc
How many games has he actually played in the last two years? Never fit, won't be anything like the player we saw 3-4 years ago. Spending money for a player who has barely played??? Must be crazy, no thanks. If he was free, perhaps, but the wages demands would still put me off.
Fair point. Just a real shame if injuries stop him from becoming what he could well have become. A top top player. If he was available on a freebie and decent wages still think he would be worth having.
He's only 25 But he's made of glass, that's the problem If you could get him match fit and playing regularly then you would have yourselves a bargain But it's just the big if
There have been a lot of players that could have been very good but for injury. I always rated Woodgate in his young Leeds days but he was robbed of a career. Also, the way we manage injury prone players is by resting them. Not in games but training. If we have too many on individual schedules than it becomes very difficult for Brod to work on tactics.
ermmmmm.... whats the price... some lads say 5mil.. for 5 mil you get cissohko so the answer has to be yes to richards on that gorunds alone. if someone said it was 10mil i'd be saying no.
