dont know if anyone has posted this, but this was in this mornings metro (london)

    SURPRISE OF THE SEASON

BLACKPOOL, obviously. But the surprise surprise of the year is Newcastle. Start well after promotion, sack a popular manager, replace him with a man relieved of his duties in League One, sell your star striker and homegrown hero in January, and then spend the last four months of the season with Leon Best, Shola Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands up front, finish comfortably in mid-table. Implausible, but true.

i found it quite strange to see it on print like that, but for the most part it is true, what a fantastic season it has been!!!

this is an email from my mate who lives in dublin after the 5-1, i went up for the game with a gang of my london mates and my childhood friends from dublin for my 30th birthday, this is what he said:

Still cant get over how lucky we were with the match - 5-1..... in a premiership match.....in a derby match.....one of the teams is the team you support.....and its for your 30th birthday.....legend!

Was singing "Cheer up Stevie Bruce......" in my head the whole way home!!!

really has been a cracking season!!!
