I think it is decision time for Pards.
If he is serious about progressing in Europe he needs to take his strongest team to the Ukraine. If he wants to plough all his efforts into the PL and send out a weakened team then personally I'd understand that too.
His choice will divide some fans I'm sure but at least we are in a position to choose. I have a feeling he will send out a strong team and that we will score an away goal.... something I expect to allow us to progress as I can see a 1-1.

For anyone still uncertain whether to make the trip to Kharkiv for the second leg of our Europa League tie, five seats on the Thomas Cook flight remain unsold.

The charter flight departs from Newcastle on Wednesday Feb 20th (06.00 check in) and includes an overnight stay in a Kharkiv hotel. The return flight after the game is scheduled to depart Kharkiv at 23.30, arriving back in Newcastle around 01.45 on Friday.

I think you should field your strongest team for the away leg and give it your all in a blood and guts no holds barred sort of way.

After last nights unfair result your fans deserve to see their club go through to the next round.

If I was Pardew I would expect your players to die and more for the club next Thursday.

I shall be cheering them on and giving them every encouragement.

Divided opinion so far. Nearly 54% thinking we will progress and 46% (me included) thinking we won't.

There is no question, we'll definitely field our strongest possible XI(whether that includes Jonas or not is another qn).


Problem is this is a tricky trip to Russia where they'll be facing a partisan crowd. Good thing is there was no weekend game, so they'll be rested sufficiently for the game and there would be no excuses. Let's hope Ben Arfa is fit and can make an appearance at least as a sub for us, and The Gouf needs to play if fit!
