    Think about this

    raf-rio-vida-evra
    -----carrick-----
    ---fletch-ando--
    -messi-wazza-nani

    or even

    raf-rio-vida-evra
    --fletch-carrick-
    messi-wazza-nani
    ----hernandez---

not saying it will happen but it would be awesome. go for a cheeky bid fergie? i think so.

use cash from cr7 sale and raise 40m. buy messi at 130m.

Messi would rather play with Xabi, Ineista and Fabragas than Carrick, Anderson, and Fletcher.

No way Liverpool have already put in a bid for Messi and Ronaldo, it's a swap deal including Poulsen and N'Gog.

Sounds great! Just let me load up Football Manager and I'll get right on it <ok>

    P.S. Messi's buyout clause is £230 million...

watching last night, messi didn't really get past players or dribble great lengths, but his passing is superb. Another thing people don't notice about messi is his ability to be in the right place at the right time. Both his goals last night were scored when he seemed to appear exactly where he needed to be. Oh, and his finishing is top class.

Messi's finishing is top class, that was the big difference in the Super Cup, if Real had someone that could actually hit the target instead of Benzema over the 2 legs they would of destroyed Barcelona. Messi's ability to avoid bookings is impressive too, to be fair the entire Barcelona team seem to be good at avoiding cards, at one point in the 2nd leg of the Super Cup Messi booted the ball off the pitch after conceding a free kick, an offense that is supposed to be a yellow card (remember Van Persie against Barcelona last season?) and he never even got spoken too, you know if that was a Real player the yellow card would of been out in a flash.

i did see a bit of barca bias from the officials last night. No, not the marcelo thing, but at one point even the commentator said 'the rf may be looking favourably because it is iniesta' after he'd made a terrible late challenge.

There was a lot of them to be honest, I think it was Villa who cynically tripped one of the Real defenders when the ball was a good 10 yards away, any other team that was another certain yellow.

tbf, it could be the champions league, mascherano + busquets being ****s or the diving, but even though they play 'football the way it should be' i have developed an annoyance with barca and really want real to win the league this year.

Actually, if you could only swap one player, Xavi would make a much bigger difference than Messi.

^^This. yes they play good football ( find it boring at times cause they tend to pass it around their defence quite alot ) but they get such favortism its incredible, i hate watching alves, pedro and busquets cause they dive so much, they acctually make ronaldo look good. their all team dives and gets all the decisions its so irratating.

It was looking good for real madrid though, had they had a better finish like psyhco said they would probably have walked that supercup, they should buy someone like falcao or tevez. they rely to much on ronaldos goals at the moment.

There was also the slap/push in the face by Alves, it was less than 5 yards from the ref, a linesman and the 4th official, but he didn't get a red card.
Surely the bias shown towards Barca, not just last night, but over the last couple of seasons is obvious, or maybe I'm just a paranoid delusional nutter.

As for Messi himself, I still think he needs to maintain his current level for a few more years before he can be compared to Pele or Maradonna, but he's the most complete player I've ever seen and probably a better player than those two I've just mentioned, but a 3 or 4 year career doesn't make him a true legend yet.
