Two goals in the first 25 minutes at Betis and Lionel Messi has broken Gerd Muller's world record with his 85th and 86th goal of 2012, what we'd give for a striker who could get 20% of that for us!...

That is an incredible feat. However, I don't think he would score half that amount in the Prem, whoever he played for.

    I dunno Ninesy.

He scores more than a goal a game consistently in the Champions League and the teams are generally better than the Prem.

Also C Ronaldo scored for fun in our domestic league so I reckon he'd do as well here as in Spain.

    Best player I've ever seen.

I'm with 9's on this one. La Liga only has 2 decent teams (3 this season) whilst the Premier League has 5+. Also the majority of Barca's main starting XI are from the Spanish national team, so he has a lot of world class players around him.

Neither of the Manchester clubs have defenders as good as or better than Pique or Puyol, or midfielders with the exception of Silva as good as or better than Busquets, Iniesta or Xavi.

Mate, in all seriousness Messi could not have done it without those quality players around him, so in essence we're both right.

If you could move the whole team over here then that would be diffrent. Problem is the standard of our players over here just aint as good.

As for the 2 teams debate, Isnt that what the Prem and old 1st division have always been? Its only since Chelsea & Man City hit the money that there have ever been more than 2 teams.
For years it was Liverpool /Man Utd,Then Arsenal/Man Utd then Chelsea/Man Utd & Arsenal.
To be honest, no team outside the top 4 big clubs is going to win the league any time soon.

So back to Messi, I think if you had him in one of the great Man Utd teams or Possibly at city, he could score plenty. Not so sure he'd want to come though.."Its grimm oop North!.."

Manchester was beaten by Athletic Bilbao and Chelsea by Athletico Madrid so your decent teams sentence is way off . And look what Malaga is doing in the Champions League. The fact is that Barcelona is to good and they would dominate the Prem league also.

Bilbao aren't doing so well this season and Malaga got through quite an easy CL group with AC Milan in turmoil and the others not the greatest of opposition.

Yes Bilbao is playing bad right now but so is Liverpool, Chelsea who failed to go trough the group stage and Arsenal who was 2nd with easy group like Malaga. Sorry I just don't see your 5 teams

Ok Prem league is surely more competitive but it's just the fact that Real Madrid and especially Barcelona are too strong.

The majority of Messi's goals are down to individual brilliance, if he played for this QPR team in the premiership he could still finish the premierships top goalscorer of the season.
I know it sounds unlikely but he is that good
