I have just had a reply to my E mail to the Club regarding the 'Season Ticket Non-Transfer'
It was not a personal reply - rather a standard one that I am sure others of you may receive if you choose to e mail the Club.
It reminds STH that tickets have never intended to be transferrable. It has come to the attention of the Club that, last season there had been abuse of the tickets by a small number of individuals. This point was not elaborated upon. It reminds us that there are measures in place for the temporary transfer of season tickets on the occasions the STH cannot attend a match, as well was reminding STH that there are a number of other incentives for our benefit in supporting the Gills.
The reply does not clarify a point that I have recently raised in the 'Season Ticket' thread - that being that ( as far as I am concerned ) - it is not exactly clear if - on those rare occasions when a STH wishes for a guest to use the season ticket - is there going to be a fee involved. The wording of the message is not clear - although what is clear is that a STH will have to 'waste' the chance to use a 'Friends for a £5' ticket for those occasions which might be FREE to transfer to a guest.
I have sent the Club another Email asking for clarification.

    alwaysright,
I have been told (by someone who claims it comes from Paulo) that you DO have to pay £5 as well as the friends for £5 voucher and the match voucher from your book, if true they are effectively charging a admin fee of £20 which is daylight robbery.

the friends for a £5 voucher is worth £15 off the value of a match day ticket therefor add the £5 cash and it's costing £20 for a seat you've already paid for, I'd rather the seat stay empty and a friend have a seat elsewhere in the ground.

grumpygit - this is my understanding and has been all along in my argument. That I lose a £20 ticket to transfer a ticket. Hence the incentive is lost. Although some may argue not technically, I prefer my seat to remain empty until my friends for a fiver voucher is more fitting to a game I will also attend accordingly with my friend or family member. Therefore a paid non refundable seat will remain empty. I just hope the club have a good season otherwise they could be feeling the consequences on a late cold winters night.

ps. yup just checked, standard poxy response from the club.

    That's lazy journalism.

    It says:

They haven't been 'free' to do it. You've never been allowed.

They also make it sound like you have to bring three separate items to the gate. It's all in one bloody book.
