2 hard games to come and we will have reached the halfway point. I think it's odds on we'll still be on 12 points. That will leave us requiring something like another 28 points. However it plays out we are going to need something like 1.5 points a game to see us stay up.

I don't believe in Father Christmas but if we can do it I might change my mind.

If we play as well as we did today and go down, then it's because we aren't good enough, not for lack of trying. This is acceptable.

What I think might ultimately cost us (Allams aside) is the games where we were turgid against the likes of Sunderland and Watford.

The only hope is that we have played quite well the last 3 games, Lesta in our last season in the EPL were similar couldn't buy a win but were playing OK. They then went on a run and basically relegated us. We have to hope we can do the same, problem is we don't have a Mahrez or Vardy.

28 points was what Leicester got in the second half of 2014/15. That was seen as sensational. We're down basically.

If we stay up then ehaw will stay .so do we need to go down in order to rid ourselves.maybe we would have been better off not getting promoted in the first place

Agreed. There's so much **** in this division & we've let some big chances to beat them go.

In between the Burnley match and Palace, the other week, we've been shocking in terms of tactics, line ups and looking like we wanted to win the match.

I don't mind them going down if they played like yesterday- with effort & commitment, for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, In the end, only having 13 players & leaving it late to sign so many poor ones will cost us, unless we somehow bring in an inform **** hot striker and a few defensive minded players.

I just can't accept going down on a whimper like under Bruce 2 seasons ago.

I also agree. Can't think of many who would disagree.

    I disagree
Drew 2-2 at Arsenal after leading till 10 mins before the end
    Drew 0-0 at Liverpool
    Took 4 points off Everton
Drew 1-1 at Man City afer leading for a long period, only conceding in injury time.
Beat LFC 1-0 (3rd consecutive win over them in Hull)
Drew 0-0 with MUFC at the KCOM

    Some whimper.

But if we all pool our Christmas wishes, we get 6 points over the period and then go on an amazing run... and snap fingers,...

Even Bruce thought we went down with a whimper, so much so that he offered to resign.

I doubt 40 pts will be needed. The average this last few seasons has been around 35-36.

However, if we get 30 pts it will be a miracle.

Getting thrashed by a ****e Newcastle side on our own pitch.
Going out of Europe because Bruce prioritised a point against Stoke over that.

Just 2 examples how we down with a whimper.

I think the whimper bit comes from underwhelming performances from big money signings, a refusal to change tactics when it was evident things weren't working and playing some proper crap football. The previous relegation season we drew with Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea, it doesn't mean we weren't total ****.

That's why he offered to resign, he knew he'd gaffed and held his hands up.
