..I'm feeling the warm glow from a mixture of booze, good food and the company of my nearest and dearest...let's hope the lads can make it an even better Xmas tomorrow...

And now please... let us have no-one asking anyone else if they've had a good Christmas [cue the flood]. I may be a humanist nowadays, but my Christmas has barely started. There's another 11 days to go. As midnight of January 5th/6th sounds out, you can legitimately start to enquire. Two turtle doves for today.

Up, ready to go to work (so couldn't drink much yesterday) because some morons think Boxing Day is shopping day. This madness should not be encouraged (because Xmas Day will be next) so it is your duty to avoid shops today. Have lots of couch, telly, booze and food today instead.
Well Fran.....You may have to work today, sad to hear that.......but over the years I have done more than my share of Christmas day, boxing day, New years day etc. A lot of people do....what worries me more though is the talk about cancelling Christmas and the like as it May offend some of our non Christian brothers and sisters.
God forbid that, that should happen during my life time!!!

I am puzzled.
Good old Father Christmas rode his sleigh all through those drenching cloud bursts on Christmas night and delivered my presents to the foot of my bed all bone dry and yet when it rains my post man walks up my drive and delivers a mess of wet papier mache that was once upon my post which lands in my hallway on a similar mass of wet paper which once passed as my daily newspaper.
Good old Santa should pass on a few tips to the postman and the paper boy on how to keep things dry in the rain.
