News this morning on the Non-League website that Havant and Waterlooville FC are to de-merge in a move that will see the re-emergence of Waterlooville FC. Havant are in talks with Gosport Borough with view to merging together to form a club capable of reaching the National League Premier Division and maybe even the Football League. Gosport Borough and Havant FC will play in the National League south next season regardless of Gosport's success or otherwise in making the playoffs. Waterlooville's future isn't yet decided. The New team is expected to play at Privett Park, leaving Waterlooville to keep Westleigh Park while they search for a site in Waterlooville for a new ground. If, however, GBH FC choose to play at Westleigh, and a groundshare can't be agreed then the 'ville will have to play at Horndean's Five Heads Park, which is not suitable for the National League, meaning a drop into the Southern League.
I'm not close enough to know the history of the original merge vs this proposal - do you see this as a good move Dev - surprised a bit that Gosport are entertaining it as they are doing reasonably well as a stand-alone.
