Was looking to buy a new away shirt, actually dont like it very much, but was going to fly the flag anyway, so went on to the official shop. and this was the quote, this is without postage to Holland. http://www.safcstore.com/product/2799/1112_Away_Shirt_Adults_SS So needless to say, I didnt bother. by the time I added the badges, £15, it ends up at £55 quid,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,er no thanks.
I'm a cheapskate and tend to buy tops near the end of the season. It's £40 for a t-shirt at the end of the day. Mind you can't believe you have to pay extra for the PL badges! On another note it would be nice to be able to buy a shirt minus the sponsors logo as you get with the kiddies tops.
£55, bit steep that mind...but at least they're original (made in china probably)....Fot that hideous blue thing as well...
I think the away top is excellent...I don't normally bother with names and numbers, so it costs me around £40 each.
Didn't like it when i saw it online but saw it in the flesh at Washy shop and i've changed my mind, it's canny and i'll be getting one. Mind, agree with Bill about the prices, getting a bit silly now, £40 for a T-Shirt is a bit much.
I still wear my SAFC shirt from the 2005/6 campaign - I have paid £60+ for a designer shirt less than 2 years ago which i store in the same drawer and wear a lot less and for a lot less rigorous activities - and I have thrown 3 or 4 of them away. I'm not saying I agree with the £40 price, but the shirts last really well (The only shirts I have in my house more than 2 years old are Sunderland shirts as the others get bent out of shape etc.) The SAFC shirts in general seem to last really well. (my son is wearing some of my older shirts as well from when I was a kid - 20+ years old)
