Gotta admire how football clubs have developed the merchandising side of things. Our house for example has seen two new away jerseys bought today and three more of the upcoming third kit promised for Xmas. Nearly half a season ticket there. Not bad for an armchair supporter eh. Back in the day a Jersey would last four or five seasons if you could afford one

Aye, things have moved on. Mind though, when I was wee, my first Leeds shirt was a factory seconds one, marked down from 27/6 to 19/6. Sounds cheap, but believe me, 50 years ago it wasn't! Didn't bother me that it looked like I had a vicious scar running the length of my body. But that's all you got for your money then - you had to separately buy a badge & number, & behave long enough for your mam to sew them on. And the pride, oh the pride in wearing it. The oddest thing I've just remembered is that I don't remember ever having a Partick Thistle shirt, even though we went to see them every week!

The plus side of course was you could wear it for years and still do the job. Wonder where the game will be in 50 years? Maybe a new shirt every month

Had the top one, had a similar one to the bottom one, except white background, with FA Cup winners on it. When I say had, they're in the loft with my Leeds United mirror.

Oh and my Arthur Graham silk scarf.
