What stock will they have in this coming season? Hull City AFC or Hull City Tigers? Perhaps there will also be a section for those who like Hull Tigers as a name? After all, we're free to call them what we like. What a mess.......
Don't you listen? Haven't you read the communication from the Club? I really don't know why they bother!! Look, it's all been done to simplify the brand, the old name for the Association Football Club Hull City was obviously far too long, I mean contrast the number of letter used in it (Hull) with the shortest league Club names. So to make it simple, we're to be known as Hull Tigers...unless you're in Hull where it's Hull City Tigers...unless you're reading about it in the local media, where it's Hull City...or in the national media Hull...or in the Premier League where it's Hull CIty AFC...or a fan group where you can call it anything.... See, that's how marketing works, keep a clear simple brand...so that's what'll be in the shops....in Hull...which will be different outside Hull..
Not trying to be-little the debate... but if it were a choice between dropping "Cash Converters" from the strip or "AFC", I'd know which one I'd plump for.
on the face of it, this seems a totally irrelevant "either or" fallacy... yet.. Bolton Wanderers had to back down from using a payday loan sponsor so clearly took the fans' opinions into account following an uproar. Our owners plan to do something far more long term and sensitive, there is clear anger & disappointment - will they be forced into a compromise or even a U-Turn? It's possible
