Big scrap next to the hotel they have as part of the ground.

Quite a rough part of town and generally good atmosphere.

    We'll win 1-2

I can't remember a time going to Sheffield United when there wasn't trouble, and it often eminated from the pub across the road from the ground.

Sheffield Wednesday was always friendly, though :emoticon-0105-wink:

Easter 1986, lost 1-0 and could barely see past the seat supports and fencing.
Another one was a 1-0 win with Kyle scoring. Also play off first leg defeat. Also a 1-0 defeat on a night time with Breen sent off.

Arrested after the 3-2 defeat and went to court with dozens of other Sunderland and United. Everyone was fighting on the steps of the court as we left for lunchtime recess. Some were arrested again!!!

One Sunderland lad was charged with 'assaulting a police officer' having rolled around the floor with an alsation and bitten it. When he was asked why he said, 'The dog started it, he bit me first' <laugh>

I got away with my assault charge by pleading not guilty, defending myself and claiming I was making a citizens arrest. The magistrates acquitted me so I pushed my luck and asked for costs ...
... they told me to **** off <doh>

In the mid to late 80s
Quite a few teenagers were given long prison sentences for crowd violence
