After much googling and fiddling about on the old BBC 606 I finally managed to access all of my old articles, some happy memories on there and some not so. I remember this night as if it were yesterday, brought a big smile to my face as I re-read it I believe it also made it onto the BBC Sport Homepage at the time too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A80736906 There are of course, those times debated on there that are not so good. I was pretty pissed off with Doomcaster at the time, probably why I posted the CEO comment on this thread : http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A45485166 Interesting to see on there also the posters we seem to have lost since the BBC closure. Remember Weaver, Wallybrain et all ? I know that many of our current not606 posters probably never used the old BBC site, but for those of you that did I thought you might like a trip down memory lane. All the old threads are still there if you'd like to browse. As I say, takes a bit of fiddling about, but you can access them all but you need to sign in first with your old username and password
Had a little nose about some of my old comments, quite funny going back a few years and reading what was hot topic then. Is 1950canary still about on here, one of the only (other than beef) that I really recall. Edit; I see that he did follow to here, always had an opinion I respected and enjoyed hearing some of the details about the 'good old days'.
the old 606 was great, not606 I still maintain is craply made, and ugly to look at in comparison with both 12 yards and the old 606. There were proper debates and much more going on between opposing supporters which is what set it apart. You just can't say anything on here, it is bland in comparison. People seem disturbed with disagreement, the old 606 there were disagreements and discussions every night. It was fantastic, on here you're lucky to find a good thread once a week. Its crap to be honest.
Incidently, ILD are you the same ILD I had a run in with on old 606 when I had a I hate Delia Smith campaign while the whole Gunn debacle was coming to its close.
Remember raging all out war on Colchester United lol those were the days. Most of my comments got deleted, about 8am every morning i got like 50 e-mails saying they'd been deleted for literally zero reason, often my abusive ones would remain. I remember a guy called Weaver, he was pretty cool. Obviously Political Canary (where did he go?) They were weird days, so much win every week, we made a lot of enemies on the way to the top haha
i'm still embarrassed by my 'give roeder a chance' thread back in 2007 to be fair, we did then go on a 14-match unbeaten streak! dear god the memories...
Which begs the question - why do you bother? You could do yourself and a few others a favour by simply not coming here.
I wrote a article on cheating, in particular diving, I just happened to mention Andy Johnson as the main culprit. I did go on a bit about him and his cheating ways, and got a warning. I explained that the article was prompted by a piece in a national newspaper who also named Johnson, so it was in the public domain and I felt I had a perfect right to follow it up. Another warning followed then a ban without further communication. Democracy is a wonderful thing Eh?
I was on board with that as well, the sheer negativity around the club at that time was awful. I'm afraid the rodent let us down!
There was another guy on 606 who hated Delia with a vengeance always referring to her as the wicked witch in the west. I recall I got into a real verbal ding dong with him regarding the finances at Carrow Road and the fact that the Club would no longer exist in its current form were it not for Delia. I get the impression that the old 606 had far more interaction and serious discussions between fans of different Clubs as each Club seemed to have it's own active Board whereas not606 has not caught on with the fans of numerous Clubs including some Premiership Clubs.
Cheers for the trip down memory lane, Kickitoff. I doubt anyone remembers me from 606, I lurked for the longest time, but the first link you put up does at least prove I posted from time to time, lol.
Is it this one Supers ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A28559721 Check out the last post on the page by 'sirlocalman' whoever he was "I had a go at Bolton's appointment of Megson last week - but can't believe our luck in getting Roeder. How did Bolton miss him? We've done well. "
I remember you from then Yellows, it's a pity that you seem to be our only lady poster on here. Perhaps if there were a few more girls on here the language might not get so industrial as it does at times
good god, well found kickitoff! yes, that's the one. how funny that many fans had called for paul jewell instead of roeder. i wonder what would have happened had he been appointed... we'd probably have trodden the same path to league one! still, i got what i wanted - good football - its just i had to wait until lambert rolled into town
