Lead Youth Development Phase Coach Kris Blakeston and Lead Foundation Phase Coach Daniel O’Keeffe have taken a group of players selected from our Under-13, Under-14 and Under-15 squads to compete in the tournament over the Easter weekend, which will be a fantastic experience for the youngsters. The team travelled from Humberside Airport earlier this morning and have safely arrived at their destination in the Province of Pordenone, which is just 80 miles from Venice. Tomorrow will see the players and staff attend an opening ceremony for the tournament as well as participating in their first group game against Slovakian side Žilina. The young Tigers will then face local sides Brugnera and Donatello on Saturday, with further games also scheduled for Sunday and Monday. Memorial Gallini is a youth football tournament held in Pordenone every year during the Easter holidays and is officially recognised by FIFA, as well as CONI, FIGC and UEFA. Current Tigers midfielder Tom Huddlestone played in the tournament as a youngster during his time in Derby County’s youth set-up in 2001. please log in to view this image

What a great experience for the young lads. Just what they need to inspire them to move up the organization. Good luck to the boys!!
