According to Rich Cawley. Anything less than the announcement of Fraeye's dismissal and it's a waste of time. No more Olly Groome scripted bollocks.
.. From the board. This will be interesting. http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/a...atement today§ionIs=sport&searchyear=2016
My guess is - " Although the team has been successful and attendances at the Valley are booming, we will still be heavily investing in new players in January, all for undisclosed fees. That's because The Premier League is still very much the ambition. You will all hear from me again in August, when I need your season ticket money. Now Olly, pass me those magic mushrooms"
I expect a rehash of how much money The Supreme Leader has put into the club (without mentioning the 3% interest) and how much he's spent on players (without mentioning that they were a waste of money). And so we'd like all the customers to get behind the team, because it's you're fault, not The Supreme Leader's.
I'm hoping that it will be Meire standing down - but really think it will just be a few words about how they intend to invest on top of the 3 players that have already joined (forget them being loans, one for 28 days). It will be a way of appeasing the casuals. They did this last Feb/March time didn't they?
You are right, it will probably be a disingenuous divide and rule statement, designed at reassuring the 50% who are not bothered or interested. 'We are working hard behind the scenes' etc..
Even if there is a change of CEO, the new one will have to bend to Roland's will, just like the present one, so although I would have welcomed this a couple of months ago, only a take-over will please me now. The present CEO has shown complete loyalty to her Master, so I don't expect her to be sacked. If she does step down it will be her choice, and he'll get her a job elsewhere.
RD is such an enigma - when you consider his political history to how he runs a football club, it just doesn't make sense. He's a socialist. He should be encouraging dialogue, happy to be challenged by staff/players/individual he trusts etc. Definitely a case of not practicing what you preach. Then again, he is a politician after all.
Maybe it's a new kind of politics, which means you sack anyone if you don't like the cut of their jib.
I think it is interesting that the players have been given today off. Fraeye's press conference has been moved to tomorrow. I have got no idea what it is about but don't expect anything good.
If they take an aggressive stance towards their customers, and confirm that Roland, like Corbyn, isn't going anywhere, my season ticket will be in the post.
I'm not worried too much - I really can't see what they can say? 1) A not up for sale sign. 2) An admission that the season hasn't gone as expected - striving to change it blah blah blah 3) I thought it could be Fraeye given the job full time (hic) - but can't see why the team would have the day off then? 4) A new manager has been found, RD has a spare £10mil and Meire leaves with immediate effect.
I liked your Pinocchio picture @Royston Vasey, it did make me giggle. I'm expecting it to be along the lines of "You don't understand what we're trying to achieve, despite us explaining it a bazillion times now, we've got a new Head of Communications, we've resigned Dorean Dervite and Yann Kermorgant, Karel Fraeye has been announced for longer period after good run of results *whispered*, we're on target to hit our 20,000 initiative."
Lets hope someone wrote it for her or proof read it and made changes. I'm sure it will have nothing we want to hear and more along the lines we know people are upset but hey its our club we will do it our way, if you don't like it please complete the enclosed form and apply for a season ticket at Wet Spam as we know more about the English game than you lot, and i get paid more than you so do one.
