I think league one is turning into a joke where you can be right up in the top 6 and get sacked. I thought he was a decent player for us and was rather undone by financial difficulties and Chase when he was here.

Perhaps the best tactics would be to lie low in 7th under the radar and storm into the last play-off spot come the end of the season? Thereby giving a shot at promotion, and not getting sacked.

He was one of those players that you didn't want to play against, but it was fine if he was in your team. He was more than capable of putting one of the opposition into row Z if necessary.

Nothing to do with his involvement with us, he's one of those people I have never been able to take to! Sorry if that offends you Cromer!

Not in the slightest, I had no grief with him as a player, (o.g. v 1p5wich aside) but as caretaker to Mike Walker and then a stint of his own as NCFC boss......<yikes>

Yet he still gets employment, unlike Alan Curbishley, for example. How the Fcuk does that work?

He's managed about eight clubs and he can't be much more than 50. No doubt he'll pop up somewhere else before too long.

I'd have thought the Wendys job would have Worthy's name all over it <ok>

You read my mind. I was thinking that he might just be the guy who can get them through the playoffs, I can't see them getting an automatic.
I couldn't stand Megson as a player when he was at other clubs but was pleasantly surprised when he came to us that he could play. Nothing flash, just linking play. Lost all respect for him when he came back for his second stint as manager, then followed by Walkers second stint as manager. We were a joke then weren't we. Thank goodness we can now hold our heads high.

What's the odds on Lee Clark being appointed the Wendies manager then?

Smegson, not many people like him

Lee Clarke will be off to bigger things I'd imagine. I thought he would have got the Feeds job, maybe they will be looking at him long-term after he's sorted his LMA stuff with Huddersfield and Colin is a short-term measure?

Looks like Dave Jones is heavy favourite and no mention of Worthy anywhere in the odds on Sky Sports News this morning

i wouldn't get too carried away yorkie - your owner is a big fan as i recall and may want him to replace jewell in the summer!

meanwhile, dave jones will get the wendies job i reckon. good job to get in my opinion, a bit like us in league one with potential to reach and stay in the premier league if you get things right.

lee clark is so overrated... if he gets a big job they will fail, big time.

On the basis of what? He's done a cracking job at Huddersfield in my opinion breaking the league record for games unbeaten, talks a lot of sense in interviews and looks destined to have a good career in management. I heard good things about him when he was Rodent's number two, and to me the moment he left us was the moment it all went wrong after what had been an encouraging start when they were together as a team.

Doesn't happen all that often, but I have to say I disagree with you on this one mate <ok>

honestly munky, find any huddersfield fan or indeed any fan of another club currently in league one, and they will tell you that clark was doing a poor job. from the outside looking in, of course it looks a ridiculous decision, as does the megson one - which i know less about - but trust me, clark is incredibly unpopular up there. he's been massively hyped up by the media because of his unbeaten run, where basically most of the results were draws, his football was poor to watch in general, he was divisive in the dressing room, fell out with players, and many other things. i wasn't surprised when i heard the news he'd been sacked - it had been coming for a while. its a bit like if you are from another country, and watch the premier league from the outside, you'd probably wonder why AVB is under so much pressure - they are 5th in the league and still in the champions league! we all know why he's under pressure but to an outsider it might not be so understandable <ok>

I know a few people that are Huddersfield fans, and they say, that when as their unbeaten run stretched, Clark seemed to change his tactics to not being beaten, instead of going to win games.

Going onto the Wendy job. Didn't Jewell go there and fail miserably after doing well with Bradford, or have I got his mixed up with someone else?

Sheffield Wednesday should be a big job to take on. They have history which helps for recognition, they have a big ground and when they are going well they can get close to filling it.
But it seems an area thing. Maybe I'm just looking at coincidences but areas seem to have their good and bad times. Yorkshire are struggling at the moment. Down here in the South West/West Country a similar picture with only Torquay making a showing.
I'm sure they will rise again but it may take a while with Mandaric at the helm. What is it with him? A Serb with American citizenship trolling through English football clubs.

With his Budgie connection it would be the straw that broke the camel's back!
