ALL supporters of Bristol Rovers are invited to The Wellington Pub, Horfield, in the marquee, (opposite the Mem) for an organised meeting. On Tuesday 10th June at 7.30pm. We are calling this meeting to bring ALL supporters together especially those of you who are frustrated and angry at the lack of action (and the pace of it) from within the club to our fall from The Football League. Many of you are concerned that The Board has decided to review itself and therefore there is probably little chance of change from TOP to BOTTOM at the club which we think is needed. The aims of the meeting are to establish what the GREATEST concerns of supporters are, what do we want to happen/change and what we are prepared to do to make it happen/change. We have been pressing the Board to engage with supporters, but there has been little response from them. We hope many of you will come so that The Board will be made aware that we want to see ACTION and CHANGE now, which we hope will persuade them to listen to us fans. So, If you are curious about who and what we are, come along. If you have something to say in support, come along. UNITED in the cause of getting Rovers back up the leagues ! Feel free to pm any thoughts and to back the meeting. Please don't just sit back and accept things !!
Who's leading the meeting? Will there be any club representation? Is there any purpose to it, beyond giving Gasheads a forum to discuss their grievances?
A small group of NON hotheaded fans saw the need. There will deliberately be no club representation. There is no intention to undermine the Supporters Club. Key points are: *The Supporters Club EGM is only open to SC members *There is still no date for Nick Higgs' Q&A meeting. In conversation and across the various boards it is obvious that the anger and frustration about our position is festering. Hopefully this meeting will pull together the issues/concerns/ideas prior to the other two meetings, so that coherent and representative views can be put forward.
so this is open to all gasheads that can attend and not just limited to supporter club members and season ticket holders. i hope there is a good turn out for this.
This is a great way of bringing fans together and will hopefully raise concerns and ideas to progress the club. I'll be there
In today's Bristol Sunday Independent (£1!) there is an excellent article by Richard Latham (page 17) entitled ' Rovers Fans Are Waiting For Closure' The focus is the club's unwillingness/failure to communicate with fans since the end of the season. It explains the feelings behind the arranging of the meeting on 10th June very well.
Yes, come on everyone, let's have a good crowd of proper Gasheads attending this. Some progress moving forward has to start somewhere, go on, Make a difference!
