Hey, Have I missed a thread about this meeting - I saw this on facebook (sorry for the copy and paste but not sure how to link) The outcome from the wycombe wanderers trust confuse bullet points from last night â ⢠Sale of training ground ratified by about the 75% majority. ⢠3 training ground investors are known to the trust each with more than 10 years supporting the club. ⢠Hope to secure bank loan on AP within the next few days. ⢠Reduced loss this year and planned break even next year. ⢠Talk of the town a success with the spend per head better than the âfreeâ promotional games. ⢠New sponsors (watch the Sunday People this week) ⢠England U21 match profit about £20k â tea bars sold out. ⢠GA verbally agreed 2 year contact, trust confidant he will sign. ⢠Experienced help for GA was mentioned but no real details. ⢠Openly critical of dealings with Wasps â wonât be sorry to see them go. ⢠Still open to groundshare but only on our terms. ⢠Another legends match to close the season against local teams to improve the community connection. ⢠Squad to be reduced from 31 to 26 next season, some deadwood will be released, better players retained and ânot journey menâ line up to bolster squad. ⢠Reduced player budget but GA is happy with this. ⢠Matt Bloomfield to be given testimonial season. ⢠Cash in on large Port Vale support by offering them the Dreams stand and Main stand. Thereâs probably more. Also, I got this today, Dear Member 1) Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you for Wednesday night. We were pleasantly surprised by the attendance - over 160 members which was more than the AGM - and very pleased with how supportive the meeting was, both generally and on the difficult subject of the Training Ground sale and lease back. Minutes, Q&A and the slides will all be available on Sunday. 2) Financial Support - if you were at the meeting, you may recall there was a substantial offer of financial support expressed. That offer has been confirmed and, if followed up with similar offers, could easily result in our not having to take up the high interest loan that was discussed at the meeting. Therefore, if you, or anyone you know is prepared to offer a loan of between £10k and £50k (or more) at a rate to be confirmed, but expected to be 8%, controlled through a legal Escrow account, such financial support could remove the prospect of the loan company having first charge on Adams Park. Please note that for legal reasons, we can only accept loans from members of the Trust and members of the Club (Founder Shareholders and Non Voting Shareholders). The offer received on Wednesday has given us the real possibility of avoiding the need for a commercial loan, but to achieve this we need anyone that is able and prepared to act quickly, ideally within the next week, to please contact Don Woodward at [email protected] or Trevor Stroud at [email protected]. 3) Two Year Season Tickets - these are available although this hasn't been widely publicised. If you are interested, please contact the Ticket Office team for more details. Cash, cheques and on-line transfer are the preferred methods of payment please. 4) Legacy Memberships - the 'amnesty' period will be opening up shortly and there will be a separate email regarding this on Sunday. Please hold any queries in the mean time. 5) Tomorrow - not forgetting there is still some football to be played, there will be a Trust table in the Vere Suite as usual tomorrow and on Tuesday. Membership and Standing Order forms will be available. Thank you once again for your support and enjoy the matches. Colin Treacher Lots of good points - any thoughts? I will touch on one which is the player size and future targets. I'm hoping this means Gaz is staying and hoping to do work with the youngsters who are happy to stay on for a few seasons. Not sure of the 31 players we have at the moment, can someone put it up and we can narrow it down to 26?
delighted to see bloomfield will be offfered a new deal, also tht gaz is willing to stay. i agree about the groundshare, if we could find someone willing to workoon our terms for rent thenits not a bad thing. below is a squad of 30 (no idea who the 31st is!!!) foster - GO - i think we can probably fin better, i genuinly cant remember himplaying at all this season basey - KEEP - i rate basey and i suspect dunne may end up being sold, so id give him a 1 year deal winfield - KEEP - looks a different player this season, if we can afford it give him a 2 year deal johnson - GO - this is tough - i really rate LJ but im not sure we can afford to keep him and the doc. however if it is likely stewart or hause will be sold, keep him ainsworth - KEEP AS MANAGER - as a player i think it would be better for him to focus on managing lewis - KEEP - but i think he is under contact already spring - KEEP - i have been very critical of him but he has showed signs of improvement recently and we have him contacted for another year, there is no point in paying him off bloomfield - KEEP - loyal, a good player at this level and got very unlucky with a slightly bizarre injury this year wood - KEEP - but i think he is already under contrac andrade - GO - not fussed about seeing him back ingram - KEEP - already under contract oli - GO - nothing else to add, just go grant - KEEP - joel can be really inconsistant but he is a match winner on his day, keeo dunne - KEEP - quality young player, if he is sold (same goes for the others) make sure we get a fair price for him... i hope we can keep him though mccoy - GO - lotsof potential but he seems to struggle every time i see him. there must be better around than him or foster morgan - KEEP - there is no player i have critizied more but he is a match winner. give him 1 year though, i can see him being even lazier if he has a longer deal harrison - KEEP - but with no intention of him being regular kuffour - GO - he is on a 2 year deal but he looks a dire, dire striker. surely there is someone stupid enough to buy him of us? harriman - LOOK TO EXTEND LOAN - if QPR will let us angol - UNSURE - he hasent really done a lot, but the position we need is a winger so maybe a 1 year deal on cheap wages is the way forward JKG - UNSURE - another season where he has been on the bench a lot... i would keep with a view of this being his lastt year if it doesnt work out stewart - KEEP scowen - KEEP mcclure - KEEP doherty - KEEP - looks a much better player since returning kretzschmar - UNSURE - never seen him...maybe that hints at something morias - KEEP - shows real potential taylor - UNSURE - a season on loan could work for him hause - KEEP ighorae - UNSURE so this releases johnson, mccoy, foster, oli and kuffour. hacing said that, this wont be the 5 they are refering too as kuffour would involve paying off a contact, so maybe one of the youngsters or angol will be let go one thing thats certain - we have seen the last of denis oli in a wwfc shirt!
I generally agree Jose and I think the extra player is Georges Ehui Players to go Foster, Andrade, Oli, Kuffour, Harriman Players to Keep Keepers - Ingram and Harrison Defenders - Basey, Winfield, Johnson, Dunne, McCoy, Stewart, Doherty, Hause Midfielders - Lewis, Spring, Blooms, Wood, Grant, Angol, JKG, Scowen, Kretzschmar, Ighorae, Ehui Stikers - Morgan, McClure, Morias, Taylor However saying that I actually don't think we need that many young midfielders so 2 out of JKG, Kretzschmar, Ighorae and Ehui could go. Therefore I would like at least 1 striker maybe 2 and a versatile fullback.
i think the standout position we need is another winger - gaz is (probably) retiring, andrades going back so that leaves us with grant and wood. wood can play full back if needed and grant has come out in the press today saying he's not sure on the contract situation - i wonder if he is looking to see what else is on the table?
Fair point and I really hope Grant stays and also that Angol steps up to the challenge. Overall pretty happy with the squad and great to see local youngsters given a proper go with no better example then Scowen, who was on loan until Gaz came in - what was Waddock thinking?
