A “DANGEROUS” and “predatory” *****phile who preyed on little girls over a 30-year period was jailed for more than nine years. Celtic Mad Thomas McLean, 57, indulged in twisted sexual fantasies beginning in the 1980s when one of his victims was just six. Liverpool Crown Court heard that McLean would get involved in local Celtic Fan groups and was able to take her out on trips to Southport and Morecambe beaches, Gulliver's World theme park, a local fishing pit and to Celtic Park where he worked. Neil Bisarya, prosecuting, said the victim looked on McLean as a “surrogate father” and wanted to please him but in return he sexually abused her and tried to rape her while wearing his Celtic Top. That one victim, who was abused by McLean from the ages of six to 11, told investigators: “It happened so many times.” She later tried to commit suicide twice. The court heard how McLean would encourage the girls to play “the kissing game” and to take their dresses off in front of him, and would wade into the sea with them while they were splashing each other.
