No. And they most certainly weren't, there were far more saying how **** he is than there were saying he's a handy larker. If I could be arsed, I would attempt to search through the thousands of threads we get through on here, but because I know for a fact my memory isn't failing me I'm content in the knowledge that it happened. If you want proof, find it yourself, cropped up a few times towards the end of and a little after the season.

Apart from one poor punch the Chile keeper looked very useful came out and took crosses confidently, made good saves.
