Not sure what we did to him. He looked awful for us!

 

He was clearly Pardewed.

 

It's looking increasingly likely he was in fact Carvered.

 

Parvered or Cardewed.

 

He was played up front by himself. We were awful when he joined us. He wasn't fully fit. Now that he is playing in a decent side, is fully fit and is playing with quality around him his ability is showing. Yet another player written off because of our ****ty management.

 

Carver was around under SBR and players weren't carvered then.
It's clearly all Alan's fault.
He is the spawn of the devil clearly.
Interesting to note Pards was playing the blame game again yesterday....

 

I'm sure that playing in Holland also plays a part in it...

 

I'd like to point out that I was pretty much on my own in my defence of Luuk. I said we should keep him and that it was more to do with the fact that we were bloody dire that he didn't perform well during his time here. Having said that he'd be having the same difficulties now as we seem pretty clueless all over the place.

 

I stuck up for him a lot. We were atrocious last season. He hadn't played for 1,000 years and came in obviously unfit. Herr Pardew also had this amazing idea to stick him up front by himself, or play him out of position. No wonder the guy struggled.

 

As far as I can see there are two things to take from LDJ scoring this number of goals.

1. Avoid Strikers from the Dutch League - most fail elsewhere (Dozy is a prime example);
2. Avoid Defenders from the Dutch League - most must be crap, if the likes LDJ can score this amount;

 

He could make a good target man to give Ayoze some decent service.

 

With Alves coming in from the wing.....

 

Didn't Bony come from Holland? And Pelle (gone off the boil, but decent half a season)? I think a slightly more prevalent lesson is - give your manager more of a say in players, and while you're at it pay more than a fiver if you want actual quality.

 

Indeed Bony and Pelle did, but, the good seem to be outnumbered by the failures.
Of course there' been good ones, no better than Van Nistelrooy.
Good start by Pelle - lets see what he's like next season - another Michu perhaps.

I'm under the impression the good defenders are quite good from that league. It's just there isn't a lot of good defenders. Janmaat, Pieters, vertonghen, alderweireld have all been decent this season. It seems like they play physical, which we can't really say about our frenchies.

 

3. Avoid Midfielders from the Dutch league if Anita is anything to go by.

 

That's a very good point.
To think, you still get some fans defending him.

 

I don't think he's terrible but he's certainly wrong for our team and "style of play". He looks like a player who needs other good players around him to make him tick. He's not a defensive midfielder, but can't make a killer pass either. He's almost a link man in a 3 man centre midfield....maybe
