This time it's about Torres and how Maureen is getting him back to his old self in the league, after a gift of a goal v City. His only league goal this season. Season stats so far Shots 9 goals 1 0.14 ratio last season he achieved a blistering Shots 58 Goals 8 0.22 50 million quid for 16 goals 0.24 ratio http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24697898
torres tried a leg for 50mil... i'd try too.... michael owen didn't try very hard and still got paid... does this mean torres is too dim to realise he's got it made? hmmmm
1 game does not make a season Granted he played well in that ONE game, after he missed an absolute sitter, but that was one game. The rest of the season he's been poor to average. If he starts to string these one off performances together into some semblance of form then perhaps we can talk about Torres getting halfway back to the form he showed with Liverpool. McNulty is a bellend. He takes any opportunity to praise Man U, Everton or Maureen even over the smallest thing. But on the other hand really enjoys bashing Arsenal and Liverpool over anything.
that torres miss was really shocking alright. others might never live that down if they didn't play for chelsea of course. Credit to the lad he really tried his best and came back and created one then got his reward.... in fairness. however.... he still missed a total sitter.
That's not the point my trolling friend. The point is McNulty is talking bollocks because of one match. Torres played well in a couple of matches last season but the overall results were still depressing, Phil talking this ****e because he put in one decent performance is typical of that douche
Do not not realise he says things like this to get the maximium publicity / reaction so people talk about him and his articles. He is full of **** but it obviously works Just a shame we pay his wages in the UK as it's the lowest form of sports reporting.
I find it so funny that pundits are always coming out with that line about him getting back to his Liverpool form. They need to watch some footage of him playing for us just to remind themselves how good he was and how poor he is now.
Since you want to make it all about Torres which other league games has he excelled in this season? Without scoring that is
Pretty much. he's never shown anything like his previous form pre Chelsea. Rafa got a few good performances from him while he was there but the media didn't lick rafa's hole when it happened.
As I've said many times, they have to write some old bollocks to keep the food on the table. It's an article that is really only of interest to Chelsea fans, imo. To see £50M worth of renaissance in Nando's current form is really stretching it. If he scores 30 goals by the end of the season I'll begin to believe it, though he'll still have a long way to go to make up for the two and a half seasons of relative dross he's served up so far.
I think Rafa even admitted (whilst at Chelsea) that Torres won;t be the same after his injuries at LFC ... I had a soft spot for Torres because he's the best striker I've ever witnessed, and a small part of me felt that his form would return if he came back to LFC. There will be the odd flashes of brilliance but he'll never be the same player again, not unless he moves from Chelsea because he's clearly playing with fear and low confidence.
True though the thread is just really pointing out that McNulty is only too prepared to **** and think of Maureen rather than the thread pointing out Torres is nowhere near the player he was, that's obvious and needs no pointing out.
Hull- played ok Aston Villa - didn't play Bayern- played and scored Man Utd- didn't start Everton - didn't start FC Basel- didn't play Fulham- didn't start Tottenham- worked hard was the centre of a lot of good play before being sent off Steaua Bucuresti- injured early in game Norwich City- unavailable Cardiff- didn't start Schalke- played well Man City- played well This is Torres' season so far, hasn't played that much and the games he played he has done well. He deserves some credit this season for how he has done when he has got the chance.
Yep - as a proper out and out striker, I think Torres is better. Clinical, left foot, right foot, massively underrated heading ability, fox in the box, long range shots. Truly wonderful player. Suarez is the better all round player though.
