We were in the market for a number 10 from a huge club, not sure why wes had so few starts at the beginning of the season if thats what CH identified as the area of weakness. Not the most supportive interview i've ever heard but think he was just being pragmatic
January, i don't think it was, he said the deal would have happened if they'd got someone in. Makes me think it might have been someone at liverpool, cause they were chasing that guy for ages + have a lot of younger players.... All guess work i suppose. I just worry that he has identified this crucial part of the squad as an area of improvement but ignored wes all season. I personally think we should have played him more until he got replaced by a new player, not ignored him as not good enough.... It's added legs to a depleted midfield over the first half of the season, potentially contributed to leroy's burn out. Ignored a guy who's majorly helped us to 2 consecutive survivals. Need to show more faith in the squad to get the most of it is my opinion!

Good answers to some probing questions, spoken not only like a responsible CEO, but also like a true fan, I´ve never been in any doubt that we are still in entirely safe hands with McNally.
McNally had to say something the silence was deafening and those of us of a sane persuasion needed to know how safe his job is and to know the intentions of the board if things carry on.
