Brings back memories especially the parade with the cup. My dad took us all to see it and that was me hooked (glory hunter ;)). Blimey 40 years a Saints fan where did that go?

That's how football traps you. Just think there are some fans in the future who will say, 'I started watching Saints after they beat Arsenal 4-0. Thought life would always be like that '.

Think some may need to toughen up a bit if they are going to support Saints. It's never been easy....

They need to support the U21's for a while until they're strong enough to follow the first team.

I can remember being really pissed off at some woman who got tickets to the final presented to her by Mick Channon, as she'd broken her leg jumping for joy when we won the semi-final. I was 12 and mad that I hadn't broken my leg too, with the same end result :emoticon-0125-mmm:

Amen to this. Went to interview him in May of last year, and he was more than happy to give up his time.

Was more than happy to continue to chat despite his entourage telling him it was time to go.

Didn't realise quite how big he was, until I met him, either!

I have a photo of myself, my wife and Lawrie with the cup.
Dare say there are a lot of others that took that opportunity.

I stood with Palace fans at the semi-final after I'd lost my ticket in a pub and bought one outside the ground, so the semi win was a bit special. Mick was interviewed in the bath and said it was no good just getting to the final, now we had to win the bloody thing. As my old mate posted a while back, he was sitting in an airport for the final and I was at Wembley worrying about where he was. Oh those pre-mobile days!

Great time to be a Saint, and Lawrie was just the best. For those old enough the cup win was the start of something very special in our history.

Try having your photo taken with him when you were 7.... I felt like I was meeting the jolly green giant. I was taken for a tour of The Dell for my 7th birthday. I was just in awe of the great (big) man.
