Looks like mcloed is close to signing for someone but won't reveal who but says hes been talking to the club for ages don't think its us somehow

Sadly I think it will be Walsall or maybe Pompey but he is supposed to be on trial at Walsall, they are so lucky to get him, we have really missed out on someone with a lot of quality.
Would be nice, as we do need some pace up front. Alas, my head says it'll probably be a League 1 club that can offer higher wages.
If it is Walsall why would he go there it is not as if they rule that league where as he could come to us and be a key player in the promotion push, anyway it won't be us as I doubt we are the club which have been in talks with him for a while but if we get a move on and offer him something he might join us you never know.
I always thought that McLeod was a player that like Jo Kuffour enjoyed the London scene and would prefer to be a place closer to home. If Walsall have him on trial surely they must have also started their pre-season? I wouldn't rule us out, PS is a wiley character and I could see him pulling rabbits out of hats...
can't remember where, but i've seen somewhere yeovil town fc fans saying it's them who will sign mcloed, he was seen a month ago at the cider drinkers for talks. do we really think he will join us at gillingham fc after the richards incident, when scally & hess wanted him banned amongst other things...don't see it myself...even if allen was his last manager...not going to happen !!!
allen was his manager for all of a few games at the end of the season, not saying they didnt hit it off but its hardely likely that they formed the kind of bond that makes players move clubs just to follow the manager! if hes signing for us its cos he wants to play for gillingham with the contract we've offered him and not cos of who the manager is
