having taken birmingham to the championships, what will stop him taking villa down as well. if brum are looking for a manager to take them back up i suggest ex cardiff manager dave jones

In all the fuss about McLeish, it seems almost to have been overlooked that he gave them a higher league placing than normal, won a cup and took them into Europe. Can't have been many of their managers that came close to achiveing that.

I don't understand those Villa fans protesting so vehemently - the club's achieved very little for years anyway. I hope he does well now and embarrasses them.

Might have done those things, but also produced the most boring football played by any Premiership team and, ultimately, that is what got them relegated.

My Dad's from West Brom so as long as we hold them at arm's length(plus the scumbags Wolves and their goon of a manger) I'll be happy <whistle>

Following a big club like Shrewsbury, it is always within the rules to also follow a little club. Until this season, my little club was Birmingham purely because I worked there for many years but I enjoyed going to the Baggies. Villa are like the Man Utd of Birmingham, drawing the majority of their support from outside the city.

Didn't Cameron jump on the Prince William 'i support villa' bandwagon? Tom Hanks supports Villa as he found the name amusing...

Personally I wish all Midlands clubs do well enless we are playing against them :D
