Rumours abounding that Alex McLeish's parting of the ways will be announced at lunchtime. apparently has said goodbyes to player & currently discussing compo. Boab alluded to this some weeks ago. Could it be a delicious sauce for Boab this time? And where does that Leave Lambert now? Wouldn't like to be a Norwich fan. Interesting .....
That's not all I stated though, I suggested who would be the successor and I'm still sticking to that. I can also inform you that McLeish may actually have been sacked this afternoon, the media to get the full information in the next hour or so.
I do recall the rest, Boab. You left the inference to be taken that Lambie would be replacing him. Btw, Stan Collymore tweeted Alex McLeish directly to be told "Time's up big man, hope Villa go on from strength to strength". So looks very like he's already gone.
it's been on sky sports and bbc sprtsday all morning that he's having talks. has said goodbye to players
I'm told he has been sacked but the official information on this will not come out till later today. As for Lambert, it's now up to him. When this was discussed a few weeks ago, he appeared up for the challenge, haven't heard anything to change this likelihood.
Not so sure it would be a good move for Lambert. Crowds & income are similar. Norwich has a better, cheaper squad, and doesn't have a 'sell, sell!' chairperson. Why would he want to move?
Bigger club with bigger crowd pull and potential. The only issue is the lack of finance at Villa, which will put off many managers currently in employment. My own thoughts were that Villa would be a great club for Moyes to move to, as he needs a fresh challenge, but I can't see this happening.
I'm sure a player like Collymore got inside information, it happens. McLeish can now return to live at his posh house near Glasgow, which has had people returning to it for the last few weeks.
Still don't think that's enough to make him move. Bigger crowds? 5-10,000 more? So what? He'd need to start from scratch with no funds. He's be sacked before he put his own team together. It would take 5 years to sort out, minimum. Think what he could do in 5 years with Norwich. As for Moyes, I strongly suspect he'll be replacing Fergie. If he doesn't, he'll plug away at Everton until he gets fed up & takes the Scotland job. AV are a poisoned chalice. Only an up&comer would think about taking it. Why waste an established career with a suicide move like that?
Wasn't Grayson once a reserve player, bit first team sub at Villa, give it to him, he's a brilliant technical manager with just the kind of experience on how to deal with a **** of an owner.
McCleis to succeed Fergie and do to the city of manchester what he has done to the city of Birmingham
