McKenna and Stewart have now been told they can go out on loan, which is hardly a surprise. I assume when Danny East is fit he'll go back out too and I expect Mark Cullen will too(assuming there's any takers). I'd also like to see any of our young reserves go to a lower league club if possible, particularly Danny Emerton, does anyone know what happened at Alfreton Town, I can't find any appearance info, but I think they delete loan players from their site when they leave.
Stewart needs to go to a Lower League Club, get his confidence back to where it was. Both him and McKenna were dire against Leyton Orient in that first match at the KC.
Will be at the KC on Saturday, farewell game for McKenna. He was very good last season, but his time here is over.
Presumably Stewart can only go on an Emergency Loan deal, having played for 2 clubs? So we will have it for a little while longer yet. McKenna, Cullen. Why loans? Why not just release them, as we are never going to play for us this season?
Shame but its a good move for Paul Mckenna who does not have much left in his legs. Well @ Championship level that is. He has been very good for City since he came but time has caught him up. Maybe he can take Stewart with him to Fleetwood. If Stewart fails at that level then maybe CS needs to look outside of football for a career. It looks like Steve Bruce is now clearing the decks of the deadwood for In-Comings next week.
It looks like McKenna's already gone to Fleetwood, so we won't be seeing him again. Stewart can only go out on emergency loan, as he's already played for us and Burnley, so I doubt there's any panic on that one.
McKenna and Parkin @ Fleetwood. May try and catch a Fleetwood game on the next International Break weekend. March 23rd ??
Finally we can all stop this ridiculous masturbation over McKenna. He was never really good enough for us, the only reason people rate him highly is because he replaced Harper, and anyone can look good if they're replacing Harper. Traffic warden, glad we're finally seeing the back of him.
McKenna did a good job for us with the system we were playing last season. Unfortunately for him the current way we are playing does not suit his style of play. Good luck to him, he always gave 100%.
Chesterfield have made a request to extend the loan of Conor Townsend, presumably it will be granted.
Well said Percy, piss poor signing. Could only do half of a CM's job. Complete waste of money. On another note CM's don't need real pace, makes me worried offering 3 3 1/2 yr deal for a 31 yr old forward who do rely on pace to get a half yard.
He flopped at lower-league Yeovil on loan before joining City if I remember correctly. That's two loans gone pear-shaped, and his spell at City is not going great.
I think he's referring to Stewart. SB said he's really upped his training levels and I think he might have a chance if he can show us that on Saturday.
Bit harsh on Mckenna - I thought along with many others that he was excellent for us last season. That said he doesn't fit in with our style of play under SB and his fleeting appearances have been fairly poor although I thought he did pretty well in steadying the ship in a 4-4-2 at Hillsborough.. Thought he was signing for a fee though rather than on loan till the end of the season and to see out his contract with us?
Mckenna was possibly our player of the year last season, unfortunatly time as caught up with him and our system doesnt suite his style of play !
