Sherwood s record at Spuds As of 11 May 2014. Tottenham Hotspur 16 December 2013 13 May 2014 P W D L Win % 28 14 4 10 50.00 50% wins.....I would take that record for the rest of this season But to be honest...do not rate the man But reading all McIntyre tweets he sounds as though he is just musing....does not sound in the know
It's difficult for the over 60's to understand twitter gobble, but I got the impression he thought Harry was being replaced by his young Harry, that Sherwood was coming in. I'd be very happy if Harry is finally going, and Ok with Sherwood.
Whilst I am a little concerned that Sherwood is a younger version of Redknapp, there is no doubting he actually has passion which he showed at Spurs. That is exactly what we are missing in our current management team.
Not too sure about this. Like many, I am fed up of Harry's poor record and attitude, with his abject disregard for the heart of Rangers, but I also fear that at this moment in time we don't need management instability. Personally, I would give Harry to the end of the season and maybe then allow him to retire, having successfully kept us up and most importantly for him, his managerial reputation intact. To my mind, the club should announce that Harry is stepping down at the end of season and Sherwood (or A N Other) is being brought in to work with the squad for the remainder of the season; the difficulty will then only be behind the scenes as to who picks the team, tactics etc.......although, they can only improve from where we are now.
I always try to be a look on the bright side of life optimistic type of guy but with Mr Redknapp I feel defeated in that sense. Whichever way you look at it he will be leaving soon so why wait? I know we have been here before but I like to think we have a less toxic dressing room this time. With a new person in charge we have better odds of getting a positive response from the team this time. I have posted before that I'm just so bored now with him and his lame excuses and I bet half the squad are too. For me if he goes this weekend it will be another voyage into the unknown but also a huge sigh of relief.
I'd take that now - Sherwood has recent coaching badges, has worked with youngsters and knows their value and has passion coupled with enthusiasm. His senior management record, although brief, was positive and he even got Adebayor firing (while giving Harry Kane a more regular start if I'm not mistaken). My only hesitance is down to him being another soundbite machine - he is too free with his words and i remember last season he said that Kane was in instead of Soldado because Kane is a better player. It might be true but it desolates the squad of any confidence to hear that from their boss. More positives than negatives for me. Oh, and he's at least 265 years younger.
Why should you be optimistic when Redknapp is so painfully miserable (except when he looks at his pay cheque, presumably). I think we should wait til the summer to make a long term appointment.
Lol, cheers Stan, that made me chuckle! Genuine question, if we manage to stay up with Harold do you think he will be given a contract extension?
