Dejavue time Robins fans ........... Owen Coyle's recent failure to arrest a long-term slump ultimately cost him his job at Bolton. Bolton are 18th in the Championship after winning only three of their 10 matches. Any similarities are purely conjecture, however McInness Bristol City have only won 3 of their last 10 matches and sit on the same points tally as Bolton......Hmm what should the board do to arrest the inevitable slide into L1 If BCFC form does not improve should McInness exit stage right and who should replace him? So lets take a look at City's current form or lack of Current Form (last 6 games) at home City are 16th and away 20th. Combined form over 10 games City sit at 21st in the championship. Goals (F-A) at home scored 14- against 12, whereas away scored 4- against 7. Combined over 10 games(-1) City are under the impression that they have a good attack and crap defence hmm this is probably down to the fact that they do not get much travelling support as they have to walk the dog or something?, so no one actually sees the away games as they have failed to score in 60% of there away matches At home it is a different story they have not failed to score in the last 5 and are ranked 1st out of all clubs with an average goals scored of 2.80% over the last 6 games vs away 0.80% . They have however still failed to score in over 30% of all the last 10 matches On the defensive fraility side they rank 24th (surely not bottomn) at home letting in over 2.4 goals and away 1.40 goals a match and just cannot keep a clean sheet . This leaves City with that sinking feeling letting on average over 10 games almost 2 goals per game so at least you get to see some action even if you lose which they have been of late. So in conclusion City have lost over 50% of their total matches played (10) 40% of them at home and 60% away. So is McInnes time up if results do not improve quickly otherwise another season will drift away and relegation dogfight is on the cards. The positives are that City face two managerless teams Bolton and Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday face Leeds who are on fire. COR
The big difference were Bolton have been a long standing premier league team and the board probably expected to be challenging to go back up. Where im sure DM has been set a target of mid table. So both clubs have different targets but both sets of fans would hope their clubs would be doing better. If it wasnt for mistakes we would be higher
What drugs are you taking COR, you've got one hell of an imagination, good storyteller.... Just one comparison......this time last year Millen had just lost to Hollowhead 5-0 and was sacked and Del took over, look at our progress in 12 months.... 2011/12...............Keith Millen.............L.L.W.D.D.L.L.D.L.L............ .06......... 2012/13...............Derek Mcinnes.........L.W.W.L.L.W.D.L.D..............11. ........ He ain't going nowhere but nice fish.........
Must be hurting him that we are still two divisions above him. He is probably crying in his jelly tots now
Seriously Wiz ome more win and a couple of draws and he is fireproof? what will happen if he loses a few more matches, do you think that he will still be safe? Even more so will the fans not be calling for a change surely the board will want more than he is better than Millen was? The board invest a lot of money in the club with the losses, Gates will continue to fall along with revenues. I think it is crunch time after 10 games. COR
Actually ROD thats my reason you are in the Championship it cost a lot of money to get there no way will the Directors or fans wish to see reversal of fortunes. He may be safe for the moment but for how long with your current decline? COR
So... a manager who got a team relegated then got them a few wins is the same as a manager who saved a team from relegation and got them a few wins? You're 21st in League 2. We're 17th in the Championship. Please stare at that for a few seconds them maybe have a look at Baldock's goals he's scored since coming here and then see some of the quality from elsewhere in the league before ever feeling the compulsion to comment on Bristol City again.
i know it's a silly time of the season, with no domestic football of any real intrest, and the board is understandably quiet, but what silly pointless thread.
Saving City from relegation is soo last season,we all know that last season counts for nought after a few games and I am sure the board do not want mediocre mid table especially with all the talent that you have up front. A top ten finish would be par and lets face it the form you are carrying into games at the moment is not mid table its relegation material. As for the pointless thread fair comment however you have all been looking at the 10 game scenario comparing with previous seasons and managers who were let go so its a question that needs to be considered. Ask yourself this if City were in a playoff position alls well but your not other than goal difference you are joint 21st. Other clubs are quick to part with managers why will City be different this year? COR
c o r I live across the road from Dorchester Town FC and it's very possible rovers will be one of the Magpies opponents next season, at least you can make a weekend of it staying down Weymouth
You really are showing us that you are a stupid twat, we are 17 on goal difference which makes it joint 17th not joint 21st you pig **** moron. Just because your ****e and in the bottom league, don't tar us with the same brush as you lot getting rid of managers all the time. In the past 7 years we have actually got rid of 2. How many have you got rid off? Just because you had a few results don't make you world beaters. One defeat and you will do your dissappearing act again.
Hmm Rovers are in the position they are similar to City different leagues no doubt neither are world beaters. I have no illusions on how good or bad Rovers are like you we are one defeat away from difficulties a concept ROD you seem to struggle with. COR
One defeat from difficulties? You've been relegation candidates all season. At least we managed to be 1st briefly before our team's weaknesses started costing us points...
But seriously unlike Rovers (as Wiz pointed out 5 managers in 12 months) we don't fire managers for the hell of it. But if we did sack Mciness who we would we get in?? Steve kean??
IF we did fire Derek Mcinnes, it seems very likely that McGoo could be out of a job as well. So we'd be able to hire that useless waste of space? No thanks, we'll stick with a guy that will one day be revered by every City fan as our best ever manager!
