Seen this on another site, before anyone says.

But, got to thinking, last year we thought that Sigurdson would not be able to replace him and was just awsome.

With the arrival of Michu we have found a star.

So, who would you choose, be honest, Sigurdson on last years form or Michu on this years.

Personally how good would we be with both. I think they could have been the perfect foil for each other. If Sigurdson became available in January would you sign him and would you think he would stregnthen our side or is he just a disatance memory and wouldnt improve our squad.

Got to be Michu, wouldn't even go for both unless we could get Siggy for the same price as Michu.
To think he would have cost us nearly 4 times as much

Michu all day long. However, Siggy would have been good cover on the bench.

He set up a few including the through ball for Danny's winner against Arsenal. Choice of one, I'd take "Choo Choo" all day long but the two of them could prove an awesome midfield scoring threat. But who'd do the fetching and carrying? JdG sort of fills that role right now and he'd have to drop out to accommodate Siggy.

By the way, I'm talking about our Siggy, not the pale imitation who plays for Spurs.

siggs dont have the same skill as michu, once teams found him out he did nothing in the last 5 games, Michu will go on to be a super star with somebody soon, he is 10 classes above siggs any day of the week....

I wonder if an in-form siggy could play behind Michu as loan striker....That would be amazing...With Ki and Leon supporting them. Hernandez and dyer/routs supporting those as well!

Michu without doubt but that is based on the fact that he can play as a striker or midfield and what he's brought to the team .I cannot recall whether Siggy was played up front last season and he did go missing on occasion.Great at free kicks / dead ball situations but looking at what we have now & at the price we paid wow. I'd certainly like to see him back but 8 million no thanks

£8m quid for Gylfi v £2m quid for Michu ??

Seriously though its no contest for me, its Michu every time, he has much more to his game, alot of people seem to forget about how good he is in the air and that in itself puts him ahead of Siggy, an arial threat is what we have missed for ages and we finnaly have that now, Michu also runs his bollocks off for the team and is far less selfish in the final 3rd, with siggy everyone knew what he was gonna do.

Siggy was nevertheless awesome in his time here and we should always give him a warm welcome,he scored the goals that helped us with our survival and he was great in Brendens team.

I have often thought about the player since the deal went cold, i do also wonder if Laudrup didnt fancy him all that much,i heard Gylfi offered himself back to us for a bump in money but we said no, im wondering if laudrup had already found the right man for a fraction of the price anyway and it was benificial for us to miss out on him, we were settled on nearly £8m for him i would imagine if Laudrup said he could get an equally good player for alot less Huw would have been jumping for joy..<laugh>

All the best to Gylfi anyway, loved him to bits but i seriously think he would struggle a bit in this formation, he seems to be missing in action up at spurs as well though made a nice goal the other day.

Michu is an all round better player and offers more to the team both defensively and offensivly

How about if Borini was available? I can help but think he would be the perfect striker infront of Michu...

I would not have any of them back with the exception of caulker and i dont think we will ever see him back.....you can bet your last quid that sir mike has already found a few players and sounded them out. we will find out soon enough and the players leaving and going out on loan...I think lita may go back to brum and tate to leeds on extended loan, Danny will be sold to the highest bidder and a few more might go if clubs come in with silly money and the player wants to go for bigger wages.....

    1st question:
Michu. He's better than Siggy in the air, finishing, doing the unexpected (with his movement) and gets stuck in more.
They are about equal on passing and pace.
Siggy's better at taking set pieces, but Michu is better at getting on the end of them.

    2nd question:
Still think Siggy is top drawer and would have him back in a heartbeat. I do think he would be excellent behind Michu and can remember excellent slide rule passes in behind the defence that Michu would love.

    BUT

The best half of Swans football I've ever seen was in that 1st half against West Brom and I believe we looked so dangerous because Hernandez was given a free role behind Michu. They have a perfect understanding. Have noticed this when Pablo is on the wing also. They always seem to know where each other is and seem to be able to predict the runs each other is going to make.
So Pablo in the hole behind Michu is what we should go for IMO and purchase another winger either in January or the summer (believe Laudrup wanted 4 wingers from the off didn't he?).

IF we could afford it I'd love to see Gower shipped out and De Guzman moved back to compete with Ki, Leon and Agustien....and Siggy brought in to compete with Michu and Pablo in the hole. Ship out Lita, Schecter and maybe 1 of Moore or Graham (I like them both to be honest)and bring in a striker that fits and we'll be scoring goals whoever we play.

    Midfield and attack would look like;

    ------Ki-----Leon----- ------De Guzman----Agustien-------
    ------Pablo/Michu----- -----------------Siggy----------------
    Dyer--------------Pablo/Routs. NEWBIE------------------Routs/Pablo
    --------Michu/Newbie------- ---------Newbie/Graham or Moore

but I doubt we can afford a player like Siggy on the bench.
