David McGoldrick is set to return to Nottingham Forest after Saturdayâs game at Derby. Should please a few people......i'm not one of them..
We have him on loan until the end of the season, also with a view to a permanent move as his Forest contract ends in July.... What has changed?? or have you been eating those funny mushrooms in Christchurch Park again?
McGoldrick has been a big hit with Blues fans having scored four goals in 12 games since signing for the club on January 4 but will reach his maximum 93-day limit at Portman Road on Sunday so i hear....
Where did you hear this snippet of news? He was signed during the transfer window (I think) and therefore wasn't an 'emergency loan' which is where the 93 day loan comes in..... I think Although he has been on loan already this season and there is some sort of limit on the number of (or length ) of loans in one league season... Hopefully one of our esteemed members with sufficient intellect will inform us of the rules as I haven't a scooby
Found it http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/mick-on-didsy-752604.aspx Well.... That's a bit ****. I suppose it might explain why we have kept McLean on all this time but it makes no sense for him to go back to sit on the bench at Forest twiddling his thumbs just waiting to come back... The obvious solution would be for them to settle his contract and we sign him up as an 'unattached' player as him being back doesn't really benefit Forest with the run they've been on, I mean he's hardly been missed...
It's because he's already been registered with two clubs this season, so we could only sign him on an emergency loan.
Something isn't right about this! We were told in January that McGoldrick was signed on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent deal in July and now this happens! What a bloody shambles...Thanks Clegg! Makes our chances of survival a lot tougher now!
What i don't understand is, how can Tabb's loan be extended to the end of the season, and not McGoldricks? - Is it because of the 93 day rule? Also, KOPR mentioned, can Forrest not release him, and then we sign him? (or does the 3 club rule still apply to this?) What if he was to get an Italian passport, could he then sign for us as a foreign loan? I think we should get some advice from the Pozzo family, they seam to have good lawyers!
If he was released we could sign him up. Free agents can be signed at any time, regardless of loans or previous clubs during the season. Whilst it's a shame that he will be missing for the rest of the campaign it will give another of our stikers an opportunity to step up. When Didsy first got here he didn't score many but with a sustained run in the team the goals started to come so I hope those goals won't be missed. We don't exactly have the time for another of our strikers to have a bedding in period so I hope one can score the goals to guide us to safety.
Definitely a loss given the position we are in and a very good player, although I have questioned how much he actually impacts on the team considering our style of play. It's a bit strange that this wasn't meantioned until now and also that the signing is a verbal agreement, so nothing is guarenteed!!! I hope one of JET/Murphy/Nouble are given a chance with Chopra upfront now, from what I've seen Murphy and Chopra makes for a pretty balanced forward line and JET and Chopra tend to have a good understand of each others play, as Chopra makes good runs (probs best in our team) and JET is the best at picking him out!!
Ho hum -shows the dangers of trying to run the club on loan signings.I know they have their place but I'd much rather see a (smaller) squad of settled Town players. Here's hoping MM can work towards that over the summer once survival is guaranteed.
So..... He is staying with us.... But he's not eligible to play... http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/22761/mcgoldrick-will-stay-on-after-loan-end You couldn't make this stuff up
What an utter shambles! Did anyone else notice our former esteemed Chief Execs salary in the ITFC Debt article? Thought so...£172,000 pa
Should we be worried about the £72M debt figure? ME owns the debt so it isn't external but we are in the ****e if he ever decides to pull the plug!
It's worrying that the debt is still rising when I thought we were supposed to be getting our house in order. From the outside it looks like we have been cutting back on spending but then when the figures come out we have accrued more debt.
Can I just correct you here Gaffer... The TWTD article says (and I quote) "The accounts show that former chief executive Simon Clegg was paid an annual wage of £193,000" You are doing the poor old chap out of £21k a year... (more than I earn) How bloody rude of you... This is just his basic salary and I'm sure he was paid bonuses, expenses and other moneys in kind so he was possibly up there with some of the higher earners on our payroll (certainly more than some of the players)
