if it dosent cost us over the odds then yeah go for it, good young left back, gets done for pace a bit to often but makes up for it with his tackles and crossing
i'm not saying he is a bad player but he would not be my first choice. For someone from Man City I did expect a little better, however from what I saw before he came to us, he is naturally a centre defender who we have played at left back. Guess no different to Jordan Spence who played centre defence at west ham reserves and then we bring him in and play him at right back. When I look back I used to love players like darren Barnard and Mickey Bell. Those players who loved to get forward and put crosses in and I don't think McGivern is that kind of player as he loves to get on the end of crosses.
