    I fecking hate international breaks...

Aiden McGeady is a doubt for Ireland's crucial World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Tuesday night after picking up a hamstring injury.McGeady was a 61st minute substitute on Saturday evening as Martin O'Neill's side laboured to a 1-1 draw against Georgia.

It leaves them two points adrift of Serbia, who they face at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow.

McGeady has gone for a scan to determine his availability for the game, but he did take part in the pre-match warm up with the rest of the squad.

The 31-year-old has been a key player for Sunderland since signing earlier this summer, and will be expected to play a key role in another hectic month of fixtures. Sunderland play seven games before the next international break at the start of October.

Lamine Kone missed Ivory Coast's 3-0 victory over Didier Ndong's Gabon on Saturday, though the reason for his absence is not yet known.

The two sides meet again on Tuesday night, with the 28-year-old declaring himself available for selection.

Can do without McGeady being injured. Doesn't sound too bad at this stage though if he's still training etc.

So we play Grabben our only fit player who is close to a goal scorer. Or we play Gooch, Honeyman or Williams wide when they're all central players.I said we were paper thin. Less than a week after the transfer window closes and we're already at risk of being forced into unnatural changes shoehorning.

Hopefully he'll be fit for our next game but straight away the potential problems of our tiny squad are abundantly clear

McManaman will replace him but i was hoping to see them both playing in the same starting 11 on Sat.

In which case we have to play people out of position on the other wing, it doesn't solve the problem, it just transfers the problem to the other wing. We've only go two natural wide man.

Grayson may fancy Greenwood, but he hasn't so far.

I thought McManaman could play on either side?
We may see a formation change now Williams has been bought in. 442 was good at first but we're too exposed on the counter attack.

He can, but he can't do two wings at once, so swapping just transfers the problem. Doesn't matter which way you try to work it, it's always going to result in shoe horning, Hope Williams is effective wide(but from everywhere I've read it would be a waste) cause i think Honeyman and Gooch look poor out wide.

We've played 442 every match fella, we've bounced between a 442(on the ball) and 451(off the ball) every single game this season.

Yeah id rather see Greenwood get a chance. We could play Catts in the Anchor role infront of the defence and have Williams partnering Ndong in a Midfield 3 with Honeyman.
Hopefully its nothing serious its a good sign if hes been taking part in the warm up.

More shoe horning imo, Williams is a number 10 AM who plays off the front man. I don't want him forced deep into CM personally. He's an attacker, I want him closer to Grabben.

I dont wish to piss on People's chips but I read somewhere that none of our three new sigings have played any first team football yet this season.
Wonder how fit all/any of them actually are.
