so, his name pops up again in the echo along with 'fans divided'...just wondering what the fans actual thoughts are.

if it is true about his attitude and he can be kept in line with less of his 'big boy' behaviour then he obviously has the skill to help us get promoted, obviously i wish we had more info of this attitude or whatever the problem was but parky made a bold call saying he has no place with the 1st team and as he knows a damn sight more than i do or will about the situation then i have to respect his call...i only hope we don't end up just missing out on promotion while he helps some other team to go up or it will look like a terrible decision and the fans will turn even further.

Get rid, use his salary for Maddison and Garbutt.

    Simple.

We need to settle his contract do whatever needs done and have him gone.

His salary would cover 2 top signings (who I’ve named).

I was a big fan of Geads but he is done here.

We have a side which lacks creativity and he is our most creative player.

Should never have been ditched IMO, weak as piss from the manager unable to manage him

Whilst undoubtably skillful he's a selfish player. Teams know that he'll cut back inside and just wait and close him down.

Much prefer Gooch and McGuire as they aren't 1 trick ponies.

He was being booed at away games before Parkinson ditched him ...

... I'd lost patience before the booing started, he became really annoying.

He has been our best attacker at times, but a liability in defence.

He is it also seems a very poor 'team' player and pisses everyone off..

Unless PP can sort him, get rid...age against him as well!

haven’t checked the stats but I’d say he’s probably scored more then both of them players. One trick pony he is not.

They are both quicker though, and that makes them more worthwhile. We all seen McGeady get slower and slower to the point he was destroying the flow of attacks at the end.

Gooch has one thing, he’s direct, but that makes him dangerous as he gets plenty of balls in and he scores a few.

Maguire hasn’t the natural ability of McGeady, but again, he’s quicker, he’s stronger, he doesn’t slow down the attacks, he does score goals, and he’s a proper threat on set plays.

McGeady has lovely feet but his impact was becoming more negative than positive long before he was elbowed.

he’s better then both of them tho quite comfortably, I don’t buy into the whole he slowed us down crack when he was firing we where winning matches. I’m not arsed if he gets left out there’s Nowt I can do about it.

but trying to make out he’s not the best player at the clubs a bit mad tbh.

Ah creativity. That thing McGeady does where he beats a man, looks up, sees a player on his own, beats a man again, then again, sees 2 others in better positions, beats another man then either loses the ball or shoots from stupid distances or angles!

he was awful every game he played last season. Too many of those one tricks. Great the season before but looked like he didn’t give a **** last season. See ya Aiden. Don’t let the door injure you on the way out!

He wasn’t winning us games in the end though mate, the impact had gone. He was stopping attacks in their tracks pirouetting about with the ball and trying to shoot allowing defenders back.

Natural ability wise he is another level to anyone else, but physically he went off a cliff and he lost the impact. This is before we factor in the abundantly clear attitude issues and it’s detrimental effect on the squad.

I was a massive McGeady fan, but players hit a limit.

I see lads in there 50’s playing 7-a-side who have still got a bit of class about them. There comes a point were the cons outweighs the pros and McGeady’s axis crossed.

Maguire has scored big goals in big games for us. Gooch scores regularly and assists regularly, only his injury record is the issue.

    2019/20 he scored 4 (2 pens) in 15 appearances (2 as sub), Mcguire 10 (2 pens) in 35 app (7 as sub) and Gooch 11 (1 pen) 30 app (2 as sub)

most sensible thing i have read the day this.

parky does not want him, seems the fans have had enough of his 'style of play'...should have therefore been a top priority to sort his contract out, making room for a player who wants to be here that will please the fans...if it meant both those players could be added then even better.

Maguire stepped up immediately when McGeady went as well. Suddenly he was right up for it.

Iirc Parkinson had the same chat with both players. Maguire stepped up and McGeady effectvely told him where to stick it
