Roll Up; Roll Up for The Manchester Citi Show; staring none other than possibly the best manager, the best keeper, the best back line, the best midfielder, the best attack & definitely the best subs bench in the world! The new fiords bloke, Erlingy Haalandii seems a bit tall & gangly but he might be their weak link. Target him Ralph & we might extend our undefeated PL run against the Blue Moon, as everyone one here, baring me & Lincs, seem to think! An appreciation nod to @SAINTOSPREY for the following info (heyyyy our bf Lee Mason). Saturday 8th October 2022. Manchester Citeh v Southampton KO. 15:00. Referee: Andrew Madley. Assistants: Derek Eaton, Steve Meredith. Fourth official: Robert Jones. VAR: Lee Mason. Assistant VAR: Adam Nunn. It’s something I never do but with “chair” it seems the norm to set out starting eleven & formation. Obvious would be 5-4 (2-2) 1 but as with RH, who knows & don’t even think about the starting 11. Actually I’d ask a question of you learned “friends”, has ANYONE ever got the starting eleven correct? Recently anyway? I very much doubt it. Come on Saints, do it. Do what we do & surprise us with score line no one has even thought of! COYFS! Ps. Apologies, no fancy colour text as I’m in Mauritius my printer is only black & white & no graphics as that’s way beyond my technical prowess.
It would be totally Saintly to get something from the game and then lose against those we would expect a result from. It's in our DNA accept it and lead a long and happy life.
OK. My theory: City will be resting on their laurels, after demolishing their upstart neighbours. Their publicity team will realise that the best way to rub ManUre's noses in it will be to lose to us, thus clearly showing Utd their true standing as a team, relative to everyone else in the PL. I have similar theories about this planet being sneezed out of the nose of the Great Grey Arkleseizure, but this involves living in continual fear of the great white handkerchief, so I won't go there.
Suggestion: confuse the football gods by locking this thread and reopening the other (with the "please delete" title left in place).
We're probably due a trouncing from City - last one was the 6-1 under Hughes I think? I know we lost 4-1 last season in the FA Cup but we were in the game until well into the 2nd half.
Phew! Was expecting, “we always do well against City”, or something. You’re learning, Tom. Good work.
As a result of you being unable to contain your excitement, at the silky passing of Saints in the build up to our fourth goal in a 4-0 victory?
Hope we go back to a ABK-Salisu partnership for this one. Not that it will make much difference. I'd like to see: Bazunu KWP ABK Salisu Perraud JWP Diallo AMN Stu Aribo Adams 4-3-2-1.
Are all of our new signings eligible to play? If we've obtained players (ABK?) from Man City, is there a clause in their purchase deal that means they can't play against City?
No. We signed them on permanent deals - only players on loan can't play against their parent clubs. And ABK came from Bochum.
Thanks, Tom. So, we can't use that as an excuse, which means that we'll just have to find some way of winning, or, more likely, leading until the 85th minute, then collapsing.
