BBC Sport are reporting that Brian McDermott is the leading candidate to take over at Wolves. Surely good news for us for one of our play off rivals to lose their manager at such a crucial part of the season?

SSN and TalkSport last night said that Gus Poyet and Roy Keane were the top 2 candidates for Wolvers now and with Poyet as the favourite. What a mess and just what Wolvers deserve. They are going down regardless, imo.

Why would you leave a newly taken over club who could have a fair bit of cash and a good chance of promotion for a club that's looking doomed day by day.....feel sorry for Wolves fans, being linked with muppets like Keane reminds me of that sinking feeling when Dowie came to us, you can see the trainwreck coming but can't look away or move....poor buggers

Presumably because they're in the Premiership and any manager worth their salt would back themselves to keep them up, especially given the other sack of ****e teams in the league like Wigan, Blackburn, QPR, Bolton etc etc. Having money in this league is no guarantee of success cough Leicester cough

Every club with a managerial vacancy is linked with Keane, I would be shocked if he was offered the Wolves job

Now mate that is a very good question. If you heard Gus Poyets post match interview on sunday he said ""that we(brighton) are miles away from being ready for the PL."" Now at the time it did not mean much but now ? who knows.
time will tell as they say.

Wolvers fans en mass Dont want Bruce and he has said he wont accept the contract on offer, short term until the summer apparantly.

Clark who knows ? McDermott would be crazy to leave Reading for the train wreck about to happen.

Souness wont manage a club again. He has said so many times and does not need the cash. Has an easy life as a sky pundit.

Roy Keane would be a good short term appointment i guess for Wolvers. But a big outsider....IMO.

Upto you now Mr Poyet it seams.

I assumed managers considered for Premiership jobs must understand the offside rule. Silly me!

Difference is that Reading are 3rd and one of the form teams in the league, Leicester are a ****house club with no hopes of promotion, i'd say he's got as good a chance to be in the Prem with Reading as he would with Wolves next year

Outside of West Ham and Brum who, in my opinion, will take the top two spots, its such a lottery that anyone can end up in the Prem through the playoffs. Reading know that as much as anyone given their playoff history, notably last year, so McDermott being offered an immediate chance to be in the Prem rather than gambling on getting there is probably a plus in Wolves' favour. Also, if he does go there and still get relegated, I'd rather be in charge of Wolves' squad in the Championship than Reading's. Granted they'll lose a couple of players but if they can keep two of Ebanks-Blake, Doyle and Fletcher and one of Hunt or Jarvis they've got to fancy going straight back up.

I don't get this Brum loving. We have played them off the park twice. Brum's squad is so threadbare its untrue and they have no money to replace. McDermott's job at Reading should not be underestimated, he has had good player after good player sold from beneath him. I think at this minute there is not one team you can say will be definitely promoted not even West Ham. Anyone read David Sullivan's comments about Demba Ba, made me sick the amount of debt that club carry. Don't get me started on Pompey who should be relegated by at least two divisions.

Birmingham are the form team and football fans are fickle. When a team are in form like them, everyone thinks it will last forever. Remember how scared people were of Brighton at the beginning of the season? Football fans, as a group, are just incapable of understanding the concept of form.

Barry Hearn(Orients owner) is now leading a campaign to have automatic relegation for any club that goes into administration introduced. IMO, thats the only way that clubs will finally see sense. I hope it comes in and soon.

I wouldn't be happy with that appointment if i was a Wolves fan. He's not been tested in that division.

I would agree with you there, but with the recent takeover you would think that wouldn't be the case now. The lure of the PL may tempt him though, and if he took it and saved Wolves from the job that would also be a very good achievement.
