With the lengthy injuries to Somma and Becchio and with Paynter seemingly incapable of scoring goals, do you think this will be McCormack's season to really show us what he can do?. He showed us glimpses of real quality towards the end of last season and has already proved he can play at this level. He's still fairly young and with a few games under his belt, he could prove to be a decent asset for us. Could this be his season?

i cant see him fitting into the team in truth unless we play 4-4-2 which i find unlikely

I think if he can get a couple of matches under him scoring a goal or two his confidence will rocket and we could get a good season out of him.

If he was any good he'd still be at Cardiff, he's quick but an average striker in this league imo. If you dont agree his Leeds record isnt too impressive is it, Both have struggled in pre season, not a goal between them, Gradel has 2, Snoddy and Nunez have 1 each and Bruce got one too, all wingers plus a center back, yet we keep being linked to goalkeepers

Not really when you look at who Cardiff had up front at the time we signed him. But yes I admit I am concerned about his one decent goal scoring season so far. The question was though is it time for him to shine and the answer is yes. With Somma and Bechio injured he is never going to get a better chance at Leeds to have a run in the team

We're linked to goalkeepers because we currently only have one. I still don't see any evidence of you football diploma because you're vlearly one of those people who has 8 strikers in their squad in FM.

The good season he had with us was as a result of a load of penalties and free kicks. He wasn't prolific from open play.

Well the 2 goals he scored for us in the last couple of games of the season were both from open play. It doesn't matter where the goals come from.

I've never thought of McCormack as a striker, he isn't a poacher and he isn't a goal machine, he is a fighter, a forward, a right or left sided attacking player and can play midfield. He has more technical ability in his little finger than Somma has in total. McCormack needs games and need confidence, give him that and we have a quality player.

I'm with you there bfb. I think with McCOrmack in the team 4-4-2 almost becomes 4-4-1-1 as he seems more to like to pick the bull up from deep and makes runs past the CF. Continuing my comparisons e.g. Howson to Gerrard I would say McCormack plays almost in a Wayne Rooney position.

Ahem one goal and the deflection that was soooo bad it should have been classed as an OG ;)

nah i do believe in mccoirmack like bfb says, he needs to play a couple games, get a couple goals and he will get confidence and start to play well as well. This is how it works

Also more than one magnificent save, one shot cleared off the line and a 35 yard rocket that clipped the outside of the post.

Whatever you think of him, he's still better than paynter. We shoulda swapped him for Montgomery. Or Shuwumni. Or a packet of crisps.

You forgot to mention the header where he missed an open goal from about 2 yards out.
as it stands there's not one out & out goalscorer in our entire squad with Becchio & Somma out. If we're relying on Paynter & Mccormack to score our goals God help us.

I'm talking about the final 2 games where he seemed to find some form. mcCOrmack is an out and out goalscorer when given the chance.
