Does anyone know if the ban will be able to be transferred from the old McCoist to the new McCoist?

MCCOIST CONTACTS GERS STARS AFTER PLEDGING FUTURE TO NEW CLUB

    Ally McCoist

    By Graham Clark

ALLY McCOIST has revealed he planned to hold talks with senior Rangers players around the globe late last night about the way ahead for them and for the Ibrox club.

It is the first time the Gers manager has been able to outline new supremo Charles Green’s vision for the future to stars like Allan McGregor and Steven Davis.

McCoist broke off his holiday, not for the first time, to reassure fans that he will be at Ibrox for the foreseeable future and to deal with business for the stricken club.

Ironically, that came as it was disclosed that the SFA are going to charge him over his outburst in April when he demanded to know the names of the members of the SFA’s Independent Judicial Panel.

But of much greater concern to McCoist is his club’s current plight.

And he revealed: “Steve Davis is in Dubai and I hope to speak to him soon. I also hope to have a good chat with the goalie and I will be giving him a call.”

All it was, basically, was we were looking to have a chat about where the club was going and I am wee bit embarrassed about what went on because it is not about individuals, it is about the way forward for the club now

What the players would have heard was in stark contrast to recent days when it seemed McCoist was at odds with Green and his consortium.

There was even talk of McCoist quitting although that would never have happened.

He insisted: “There’s too much been made of that to be honest.

“All it was, basically, was we were looking to have a chat about where the club was going and I am wee bit embarrassed about what went on because it is not about individuals, it is about the way forward for the club now.

“Charles Green’s organisation are now the owners of the club and since we fi rst met I would tell everybody that Charles has done nothing but work his socks off to get Rangers in a position to move forward whether it is meeting with the SPL, the SFA or the lawyers and that is the gospel truth.

“He is of the same opinion as me that communication is a must between all the parties – the SFA, the SPL, Walter Smith, Jim McColl, everyone.

“The good thing is I think we all realise that.

“We need to put this disaster behind us and move forward.”

The Gers boss added: “I have not met the new chairman Malcolm Murray yet but I had great conversation with him this morning. We are moving in the right direction, I don’t have any doubt about that.

“And I want to reassure the fans that I am here for the foreseeable future.

“I would say to our supporters that I am one of them and nothing has changed in that respect.

“They have shown incredibly loyalty towards me and I want to do as much as I can to repay that loyalty.”

In football parlance, that means he's getting the boot next week.
