Let's see how he behaves this time or how he reacts to dodgy correspondents on his account. Could be on a good behaviour trial, at least we'll find out how much he has matured.

He isnt a very good footballer either but works hard. If we are to improve, we simply cannot afford to rely on below par players.

I noticed a few fans congratulating El Mohammady yesterday and musings whether he could come back? No, he's crap. McClean is crap.

We have been crap for 40 years because we keep acquiring crap players that we take to our hearts who then go on to play .....well, crap - Nuggsy is another one. Crap player but we loved him so we wanted him to play. He was crap.

I hope PDC sees that and stops it.

    Thats all really. Lol

    Bang on Cest.

No more love-ins afforded to the players anymore. It's not a winning mentality.

Funny all this anti McClean stuff 2 days after his best game of the season! Was it the club or MON who asked him to close his twitter account? If he has disobeyed O'Neill then what difference does it make? Let's see what Di Canio can do before casting judgment eh?

Sorry...I've tried to give him some leeway. As a 22 year vet to see one of my team not wear a Poppy hurt like hell..I let it slide.
Then he posts some filth song supporting People who deliberately kill innocents..I'm worried.
Now he again disobeys club orders...Who the **** does he think he is???
    Get rid.

    Marcus,

His best game of the season and he didn't even stand out, to me. Again to myself, that is the sign of a very average player and judging him on all the football I have seem him play, he will NEVER be premiership standard and would be an average championship player.

Are you not just confusing best performance with good performance though Marcus?

It may have been his best performance for some time but it was not a good performance at an EPL level imo. The lad works his bollocks off and I can't deny he has a great attitude (even if he is as thick as 2 short planks) but his end product is woeful. He doesn't know when to release the ball or when to run; he has NO tricks to his armour and no idea of overlapping or positional strengths.

I don't fault his attitude but he is simply woefully inept as an EPL footballer imo.

I think there's a decent left back there, his tracking, tackling & effort can't be faulted.

    Couldn't cross a T like.

I think we should give every player the chance to be assessed by PDC. You never know, the likes of Elmo or McClean might surprise you. Other people seem to think Paolo could have the knack to turn a below par player into a decent player, me included. Shame you can't do these lads a bit of time and patients. Both of them have been developed at bad clubs and will have to continue developing late. It's a good job Kevin Philips signed for Watford before us cause you'd have probably hung him straight out to dry, but once your minds made up I suppose eh?

His best performance this season IMO. He has improved in the 2 weeks Di Canio has worked with him and I won't knick him for that. He was no worse than Graham on Saturday. I thought both did well. He had something in his first half season and that ability can't just disappear. Thick as mince but I will still back the lad. He, along with every SAFC player, played well on Saturday.

I don't get where the Kevin Phillips bit comes into this. Comparing him to McClean is ridiculous, Super Kev was a terrific footballer and most people noticed that after the first half an hour of seeing him.

    McClean is ****.
