McCarthy Interview - Forthright and to the point

How refreshing to have a manager who says it like it is and sticks to his principles. I just love the bit about arses...

Really????

 

“I’m being paid to be the manager and make those decisions. I want them to come and watch and enjoy it but enjoy us doing it the way I want it to be done.

“Everybody’s got an opinion on it. When you’re struggling, all the best players are generally sitting behind me because the bench is better and all those sitting in the stand is better.

“That ain’t the case. Opinions are like backsides, we’ve all got them but it’s not always wise to air them in public.”

 

I might be wrong but i think he has used that metaphor before. Come on Mick try something new.

 

I liked his quote from another interview, "If you form a committee to design a horse you end up with a camel"

 

I quite liked:

“It’s “Emmanuel-Thomas”. I told him “I’ll start calling you JET when you start playing like you’ve got a rocket up your backside”."

 

This should definitely be the start of a list... one day we might be able to release a book
