Sean McCarthy that is... David Hamilton too.

Mick has yet to bring his own coaching and scouting staff in. That just goes to show that the work hasnt even started in ernest yet. Scouts have contributed precisely zero over the last few years.

I do have to agree.. they have been a total waste of a salary. Not one player from the last 4 years has the potential to either make us a profit, or be a worthy first team player - tell a lie, there's only one, and thats Cressy.

I think this shows the start of the MM revolution at Portman Road, also in terms of scouting we haven't scouted well for many years, it also takes a long time to create a strong scouting network and I think it's another thing we can attribute to Mr Keane for damaging as before him we were at least signing players from lower leagues and Europe. The players Burley brought in weren't by fluke and I think it'll be a couple of years before we are even close to finding the next Martijn Reuser or Matt Holland.

I think not identifying players is harsh. I believe we were linked with some very good players and with the likes of Hewitt, Cresswell and Drury we did look away from the obvious names. The amount of times this board has shown anger at failing to conclude a deal would also suggest that scouting wasnt neccasarily the biggest problem. The fact that we havent sold a player for profit could also be blamed on upper management issues rather than a lack of sellable players.
Having said that, MM's early days at Wolves did see him sign a lot of promising under the radar players and I would be happy if we could go the same way. His signings in the latter seasons, when they had money, were more hit and miss but that shouldnt be a concern for us currently!!!
MM has been given a job to do so we have to trust that he knows what he wants and who can give him the best advise going forward. Hopefully this is just the start of the revolution!
