We all know First Canio and McBardo have fallen out but is it just me who thinks Di Canio is cutting of his nose to spite his face selling a natural Right Back without getting in a replacement. If we do get a replacement in all well and good. be a sad to McBardo go as I like him but to let him go without a replacement is gross stupidity bordering on negligence!

Bardsley is carp always has been carp, and that what he done in the casino just hammered the final nail in his Sunderland career. Sell him to fund another signing, I for one would be more than happy using Gardner (if a right-back is not found) than him much better around footballer.

I agreed with all what PDC said about Bardo at the time, however, to say it in a public forum and in front of the cameras was naive management. He needs to keep stuff like this in house, but I doubt that will happen with him. I think if he kept this issue between him and the player, Bardsley would be a starter against Fulham.....not gonna happen now.

I think what he did with PB was a public statement of intent, as much as a way of getting him out the door. The old ways no longer good enough, as much as PB past his Prem sell-by date.

    Exactly this.

PDC wanted to publicly send a message to both current players and potential recruits about the new standards that would be expected at this club. I have no doubts at all that he had already given this message to the squad behind closed doors only days before the casino incident.

To keep Bardsley now to solve a short term problem, would cause far more problems long-term as it would be the thin end of the wedge, opening the door to the old ways, which have caused our team to under perform for so many years.

Unlike some, I'm not expecting great things this season. This is just the start of the revolution, and Paolo, of all people, knows that Rome wasn't built in a day.

Whilst I agree to a point(and have, in the past, been one of Bardsley's biggest advocates), Bardsley did it "in the public eye" and Di Canio answered questions about it to the media - Bardsley made a huge mistake - he was awful last season (it's the only season he has been IMO for us but he was terrible) and then was photographed with money all over him - sober or not this is not exactly what people (us fans) want to see.

Bardsley has been a good servant for us on the whole, but last season he was very poor.

He, and his WAG, also challenged the authority of Di Canio.
How would your boss react if you blanked him when he was remonstrating with you?
No, Di Canio was making a point and it must have been manna from heaven when that reporter at the press conference asked why Bardsley was not in the squad for the Spuds game. It gave Di Canio a golden opportunity to tell the world how lax things were at our club. Don't forget we pay good money to watch them but have been sold short by these players who make millions.

We've been through this time and time again. No offence to the OP, but there's principles and that prick has taken the piss out of my club and I'm offended. How can anyone u turn or back this arsehole after all we saw last season. Yes there were plenty of other players who underperformed but they've all subscribed to the new way, a professional way. The lad is nothing but an overpaid, underperforming, self important, talentless ****er who can't keep his bitch on lead. He can **** off away from my club the Dickhead.

That talentless voted player of the season twice!
We have no natural cover Gardener is better of in midfield and is no where near a natural RB, everyone can have an off season.
Get a PROPER RB replacement and fine sell Bardo but we've seen what happens with a paper thin squad!
It's not a U-turn to keep a player until you have PROPER cover its good football sense and a class manager would admit that. Wouldn't have seen SAF sell a player he'd fallen out with without having a replacement lined up!
How many on here moaned and whinged about Bruce and MON playing players out of position but its ok for Di Canio!
Final point what happens if Craig gets injured up **** creek again!

The fact he was voted player of the season twice isnt a reflection of his talent.

It is a shocking indictment of the **** that we have had to put up with.

He was voted player of the season twice in the two seasons he was entering the last year of his contract and low and behold, this summer he declared to fight for his place again(in the final year of his contract again) until told to hop it. Every season apart from them two have been absolute ****e.

He stands against everything the club are now trying to achieve. He didn't even give it a chance when he decided his piss up was more important than keeping his head down and striding to improve himself after yet another awful performance. He will have been told what was expected from a Sunderland player by Paolo, as the bloke put in 18 hour days to try and turn around the embarrassment that the club had become. How fresh in his memory did the direction had to be? He even had his girlfriend publicly saying her irrelevant piece on twitter. And before anyone says Paolo made it public he didn't. Bardo did when he allowed himself to be photographed which in turn broke through to the press and public domain. It's not acceptable behaviour imo, full stop.

On the subject of playing players out of position, if you'd read my posts then you'll know it's my footballing pet peeve. But I'd rather have that then the club sell out it's outstanding new found ethic that finally does justice to down trodden years that the supporters have endured with faithful passion for decade and decades. We deserve better, this club deserves better and Paolo seems to understand this and I for one am %100 behind him.

I didn't get to one game last season Froggy due to personal circumstances but I have a lot of mates who did. The constant bemoaning of the lads performances, doesn't seem interested were every time he played. Remember it was MON that put him on the sidelines and under a new manager, he had the time to impress a bit like Pennant at Stoke. He failed to deliver and then rubbed salt into the wounds by doing more or less the same thing Nile Ranger did with the casino bit. I do honestly think he will go as a free, simply because to be laid on a casino floor covered in notes will put a lot of other clubs off..

Understand why Di Canio wants rid of Bardo and Catts (who isn't even getting a chance under the new management) both strong characters who will stand up for themselves and Di Canio wants yes men like any bully!
As for Di Canio he was/is no angel, still untried and untested (He managed to keep us up just relying on other results). He might have passion but **** all man management skills and **** all class. Still to be convinced he's right for the club (there's more to management than passing your coaching badges).

i think he acted disgracefully , he should have kept a low profile after some of his worst performances and then to top it off his wag stuck her oar in to make it worse in my opinion they both should have opologised unreservedly, in all honesty i cant blame pdc for this cos he has to be the boss.

Sorry mate, your way out of step on this one.

What he did was unforgivable on so many levels that nothing you could say would persuade me that he has a future at our club.

Paolo, of all people, knows that Rome wasn't built in a day.

But it would have been if he had been manager.
