Don't agree with this whatsoever. He's no good to us if he's on our books and we can't play him. Either use keep him here or sell him.

I just don't think he had what it takes. He's given the ball away way too much. Hell do well at Bordeaux and the club will sell for a decent fee. Plus he's on big wages. I think we need one more in at cb. Dier would be nice being English. Then after that I'd rather street, satka, or good got their shots.

Saylor will get a bump up no doubt. You could have a ****ing biblical scroll of the mistakes that **** has made for us in the past. Willamson, a long ball merchant and clogger that won't get any better. That leaves Colo. We will need two defenders if Mbiwa goes. One decent back up and another quality one to play aside Colo.

I disagree- get one CB in, a really good one who will slot straight into the first team. Who that is is anyone's guess. That gives us Colo + AN Other as 1st choice. Then Saylor and Willo in back up. Then we have 3 promising CBs in the development squad in Streete, Satka and Good (who is an Aussie international don't forget), promote at least one of them instead. Job done.

Anything more on this? I hope it's not true as I think he has the ability to be a good player for us in the next season and onwards. He looked a bit of a liability at times last season but I prefer him to Taylor and he was adapting to the league and squad. I think he's looked decent in pre-season and deserves until January to show his worth before we ship him out.

Always amazed how quickly people dismiss players, there's been many over the years who take 6 or 12 months before starting to perform near their potential.

In todays match against Wellington Mbiwa was being used as a wing back FFS, 3 at the back wasn't working so MBiwa was switched to a flat back 4 with Saylor as RB. Looked a lot better.

I keep pointing it out, he was signed as a utility defender because of his ability to play all different defensive positions. He spent a whole season at right back for Montpellier. He can play there. He was poor at right back AND centre half for us. I'm still in the camp of giving him time but it is fast running out. He has been here for 18months. That's usually enough time for any player and we have to be careful to not go the other way from having patience to flogging a dead horse. Even Nobby who was ill suited to us made the transition by this point in time. I'd give him until Christmas but then if he is still struggling I'd look to trade before his values falls through the floor.

Very easy to take the popular option and blame Pardew. The reality is Saylor and Mbiwa have shown themselves to be liabilities and rash decision makers. Both look penalties waiting to happen and this propensity both have to come racing out of position without care is bewildering to me at professional level. Willo has far less natural ability but far better mental capacity for the game.

This is one of the VERY few examples where you feel a modicum of sympathy for Pardew. When it is completely apparent that we have just ONE Premiership-quality CB, he is lumbered by his boss saying "but we're paying for four first team CB's - what are you asking me for? ANOTHER one?!"

Mistakes can be made. I mean, I'm not sure Sakho @ Liverpool - as they've just spent £20m on Lovren - is going to cut it and he cost three times as much as MYM did. Point being it happens - for all the scouts say they're mint, for all the reputations precede them there's just no guarantee in football.

Looks like Pardew just has to go with the revolving door policy - I think he'd like to get MYM out first and see what he can get before shipping out the likes of Saylor as well. But he also has to prepare for MYM staying and see just what the lad's capability is going to be.

I actually think Steven Taylor would improve for a move away. I know the home town club works in a lot of instances but sometimes I think it doesn't. With Saylor I think he plays to the galleries a bit rather than just using his natural athleticism and the earlier maturity he displayed.

At present I'm happy to wait on MYM but he does concern me as to my eyes he seems to lack some basic defending and footballing ability. His passing (and more the thought process behind it) seems a bit moronic at times. Positionally, for someone who captained Montpellier, is horrific. He is very easy to pull around.

Taylor should have gone a couple of seasons ago, the PL has changed a lot and he has had his time in my view as he hasn't improved his play significantly, as for MYM you can only give a player so many chances in one of the top leagues, if he doesn't get up to speed then he is a liabilty that a club can't afford, after 18 months he has had enough time to do this so it's either perform or go as far as I am concerned.
