Photo: Adam Davy/EMPICS Sunday, June 23, 2013 6:05 PM Transfer news: Stephane Mbia believes Queens Park Rangers can make a swift return to the Premier League but hinted that their bid to do so could be without him in their ranks. . .. The Cameroon international joined the west Londoners on last summerâs transfer deadline day in a deal that saw Joey Barton move in the opposite direction to Marseille. The midfielder was one of a raft of new faces drafted in by former boss Mark Hughes to help cement the Râs as a Premier League team, but he failed to impress in a hooped shirt as Rangers stuttered through a 12-game winless start to the campaign that saw the Welshman lose his job. In to the managerial hotseat came Harry Redknapp but the former Tottenham boss couldnât save them and they were relegated to the Championship after two years in the top flight. The Loftus Road wage bill will need to be trimmed in preparation for life back in the second tier of English football and Mbia is one of the names that could attract a decent fee with moneybags Monaco interested in signing the 27-year-old. âQPR deserve to be back in the Premier League,â Mbia is reported as saying on Sky Sports. âI enjoyed the Premier League despite us being relegated and we can come back next season with the coach we have and the players we have. âMany could leave, including me, but the club deserve to be in the top league. My future will be sorted out very soon.â
Wigan epitomised him - a brief flash of excellence followed by crass idiocy - too much play-acting and rolling around on the floor for my liking, won't be too sad to see him go, we need more composure and clearer heads in the NPC
I know I'm going against the grain here but I like him as a player. I don't think he's a midfielder. I think his best position is centre half. I hope he stays. I would rather see others go before him.
I'm with you on all of that, Fin. I'd like to have seen him paired with Samba once or twice last year....
I was going to quote seagull and say bang on but then read Finglas and that is bang on too. I don't think he should be first o leave but he would probably cost us as many as gaining us.
Mbia likes to think he's a midfielder, but he most definitely isn't! He became the star at marsielle being in defence and last season his best work was with many last ditch tackles in the box. He might not like it, but if he accepts he's a better defender than midfielder, then he may become the star he was growing in to. If course it would help us no end onuha at right back too, him and samba in the middle and I doubt we'll be letting in too many.
To be honest I thought he was all over the shop when he played CB. He didn't start to look good to me until he played at RB, and then in defensive midfield, where I think his best position is, as long as he's got a more tactical thinker playing along side him.
I'd like him to stay-but only if he commits to the Championship, physically as well as mentally. I doubt he will........
When Mbia was featured in the match day programme he said, amongst other things, that his preferred position was as a centre back. It's our managers who have been playing him out of position. Anyway, I wouldn't weep if he left but there are others I'd prefer to see go first.
I've let my feelings be known on here regarding M'bia and would happily drive him to the destination of his next club. His best game for us came whilst he was playing right back (Man United away), so IF he stays I would prefer him to be deployed there than anywhere else.
These tips could serve him well on the theatrical stage...... He should have got an Academy Award for this one..... please log in to view this image http://footballtweet.lockerdome.com/media/104744243 http://www.theatrecrafts.com/glossary/results.php?searchtype=4&wordsearch=SM&submit3=Search Stage Management 10 out of 12 (USA) A contractual term for a long all-day actor (or crew) call. A typical contract will have at least one of these days, when the actors may be kept at work for 10 hours out of a maximum of 12. During the 12 hour period covered (e.g. 9am to 9pm) there will be either two 1 hour breaks or one two hour break for food, and a total of 10 hours of work. Whilst the work day is long, the intensity allows a great deal of progress to be made. American Actors's Equity only allows a period of 10 out of 12 rehearsal during the 7 days before a performance opens. ACTING AREA That area within the performance space within which the actor may move in full view of the audience. Also known as the playing area This term is also used to describe the smaller subdivisions of the main stage area which are lit separately by the lighting designer (e.g. 'The stage is split into 6 acting areas, 3 downstage and 3 upstage'). (Also the name of an early Strand down-lighting floodlight - known as 'Ack Ack'). AD LIB - he'd be good at this From Latin Ad libitum meaning "at one's pleasure". The presence of mind by an actor to improvise when; 1) another actor fails to enter on cue 2) the normal progress of the play is disturbed 3) lines are forgotten 4) It may also be a bad habit developed by some actors whereby unnecessary "gags" are introduced into the dialogue.
Right back for me. He was superb at old Trafford! Think there's a place for him next year, we can't lose everyone!
