... not to mention being a folk hero and icon to your country. Having a laugh last night with my boss, a massive Glaswegian, who was telling me how proud he was of the ragtag bunch of locals who 'kicked the shyte out of the two terrorists' who tried to blow up Glasgow airport. He's right, they really are heros for firstly risking their lives to help people they thought had crashed then battering terrorists who may well have had suicide bombs strapped to them. One of these lads 'exchanged punches with one of the attackers, losing several teeth in the melee and breaking his leg.' Another 'kicked the terrorist so hard in the groin that he tore a tendon in his own foot' It does annoy me when some actor gets a Knighthood for basically doing a job they've made a fortune from while these people get a certificate ... ... these lads actually risked their own lives, for the good of us all, by attacking 'armed terrorists' with their bare hands. Why has no one made a film of this, I'd watch it, Alan Cumming to play the bollock cruncher please log in to view this image
There is very few Joe Public that get awards no matter how good or conscientious there are in there job However it’s always higher management that get these awards Oooohhhhh and I’m not saying they don’t deserve the award because they do
I agree with you Smug. As an example. Sir Bradley Wiggins. I may have mentioned it before, but I love cycling. I get out on my bike as often as I can and I am the typical middle aged man in lycra (MAMIL). As much as I think I know how difficult it is to do what he did and I admire him for it, all Bradley did to get a knighthood was to ride his bike around France for three weeks in the summer of 2012.
One of my favourite quotes was from the the airport baggage handler, John Smeaton ... "Glasgow doesn't accept this. This is Glasgow, we'll set aboot ye."
