What a lovely piece showing how Mayuka's start in the PL for Saints produces excitement in his homeland. Easy for us to get blase about such things.

A sweet article and just shows the scope of football. Mayuka has great potential and I hope he can do for Zambia what Drogba and other African players have done for there respective countries and communities.

4.7 billion is mind blowing if true. It's half the world so I have my doubts on that figure. Perhaps that's the potential live audience.

Thanks for posting, Football Fan, a great read, and I bet I'm not the only Saints fan feeling a bit more excited about this signing than I did already.

Yeah, I think that's the potential reach, so far of Premier League football coverage. Not everyone will be turning on their TVs, Computers, etc... to PL football however. They may prefer a food programme [gosh, just realised I'm really peckish] or something. But it does bring home to you of the marketing opportunities available to PL football clubs, especially if they include players from, as yet, undeveloped markets.

If you'd clicked the link provided you would have seen that it was the Zambian Daily Mail and I'm sure there's absolutely no connection, even if there might have been one in the past. :)
